3D Printed Mech Squonkers - Unsure...

So I'm kind of on the fence regarding the whole 3D printed mech squonkers thing.

I love the footprint, tight and compact but hard hitting is all good. I'm a big fan of customisation, a friend has a runt with the fire button replaced with the base of a bullet - all cool.

However, homie don't play FaceBook games - I'm not queuing up in a super secret FB waiting list group. I'm not paying £30 for a replacement door. I'm not paying £250 for a 3D printed enclosure. And I'm not blowing a nad off because the internals are shoddy and they've caused my battery to vent.

So where do I go ?
Do I haunt the classies (more than usual) looking for a bargain on a quality set-up ?
Do I buy a cheap clone off FastTech and upgrade the internals ?
Do I leave it, chalk it up as a short term infatuation ?

I've got a birthday coming up at the end of the month with a little spending money attached (£100, and no "not another mod" blowback from Mrs Rawhead).

Educate me apes I'm feeling weak and in need of your collective wisdom.

Saw a nice one over the weekend from Big's Tips - they will do custom laser engravings on the doors for not a huge amount more, I am thinking of getting a POTV ape one Looked well built, decent internals. There are quite a few sub-£100 options out there. The runt tini that was doing the rounds at VF was wicked as well - not sure if they can be sourced outside of FB @hodge40?

I'm afraid I too don't really get the idea that people will pay over £100 for a 3D printed box, a bit of plated copper and a 510 connector - as thats pretty much what all these 3d Printed mech squonkers amount to. I did see a lot of these things around Vapefest, it was one of the few bit's of hardware that was noticeable for it's presence. Everything else there this year was pretty standard stuff or Unicorn mods with prices to match - And here I'm thinking of the Echo Squonkers coming in at an eyewatering £650...

Facebook only dude, I've had my tini for about a month now, maybe longer.

Smallest 18650 Squonk I've ever seen, smaller than my Frankie.

Price on that is £100, plus postage. So £105.

Big Tips one isn't out on general sale yet, that was his personal one taking a 20700 cell.

Have to say I was blown away by the Ångkultur mods at Vapefest this weekend - Got chatting to the guy behind them and they are truly a labour of love for him (and it shows in the quality).

They are pretty exclusive by all accounts but apparently Beaum Vape in Cardiff get a handful in from time to time - maybe give them a call?

You can Pick up an Angkultur Ragnarok for £100 from Beaum vapes, or something like the Darwin Squonk1 From Darwin mods for £70 or a bit less if you feel up to some fairly routine but slightly fiddly DIY work...

I've got an offer of an Octopus - upgraded 510, 2 buttons, 2 doors all in A1 condition RRP £190 offering for £100. Is that a decent buy ?

Yep. The darwin is available at a reasonable price. Although everything in me says it kind of looks like a more awkward and untidy squeeze. Unlike his usual wood squonkers which are beautiful.
I've been tempted by the senotorian/wotofo wood box and the upgraded icarus from 3f/ft. Looks like they've done most of the upgrading on the contacts. Under £20 for the aluminium and £25 for resin. Apart from that I'm with you in avoiding fb.
