Review 4 Flavors from HEALTHIER SMOKER

Today I am reviewing Healthier Smoker Ltd, an Irish company whose Wicked E Juice product line is produced exclusively in Ireland. Healthier Smoker are based in Co Waterford, and I’ve been informed that in the coming weeks they will be moving to a state-of-the-art 15,000 sq ft manufacturing facility on the outskirts of Waterford City. Given such a well-established backing, it is not surprising that Healthier Smoker has a top-notch website, supplies to over 60 retail outlets in Ireland, and boasts an extensive line of over 50 flavors. They also include plenty of e-gear to choose from, such as basic starter kits, vv batteries, a few mods, and a handful of clearomizers.

The 12ml and 35ml I've received come in standard clear plastic bottles with your basic nipple cap and printed label. The label includes all appropriate information: company name, flavor (with respective background image), bottle size, nicotine strength, best before date, and legal/health warnings.

I have four Wicked E Juice flavors to review. I’ve ordered these here by preference from least to most favourite.

Before I begin examining each individually, I want to say that I can tell these liquids are made from really high-quality ingredients just by my initial reaction to working with them. Vapor production on all four – regardless of my evaluation of the different flavors – is exceptional. The liquid viscosity is what you would expect from a 50/50 mix, thick enough for easy application to my cotton wick. And the consistency in color means these were mixed well.

Lime:

I was quite disappointed with Lime as it was the flavor I was most looking forward to. From the very first vape it was extremely acidic and verging on painful at the back of my throat; don’t get this confused with throat hit! After a few more slow drags the flavor did mellow a bit, but the lime was extremely muted. This liquid was the most inconsistent out of all four I sampled. Some puffs recreated that first unpleasant acidic vape, while others were smooth but lacked the lime zest I was hoping for. My first thought after trying this lime liquid was “STEEP THIS NOW!” Indeed the liquid’s color is crystal clear and might get darker over time. However I want to recreate the vaping experience intended by each vendor, and since Healthier Smoking did not specify a steeping requirement, I’ve sampled Lime straight from the postbox. Also the other three samples do not require steeping from what I can tell. Of course steeping is a highly debated topic in the e-community, with most agreeing that steeping never hurts, making a world of difference for some but not making a difference for all! This may be the case, but I always tend to follow vendor’s instructions and this Lime unfortunately suffered on this point.

French Coffee:

The French Coffee has a light-brown hue and smells a bit like coffee creamer. It is a very smooth vape, plenty of thick vapour, with a solid throat hit that doesn’t overwhelm. The flavor actually reminds me more of a tobacco-coffee mix; it is earthy and nutty. I’m not personally a coffee-flavour vaper, but didn’t mind this one. I can see it being a nice mixer for other tobacco flavors.

Italian Cappuccino:

As I said I am not a lover of coffee flavours – mostly my experience is limited to small samplers I’ve received from past orders. However, I really enjoyed the Italian Cappuccino. It has less coffee flavor than the French Coffee blend, but it is exceptionally smooth and full-bodied both in flavor and vaping experience…sort of like the difference between a cup of black filter coffee and a creamy espresso beverage. Not a tremendous throat hit, which is suiting in my opinion because a big throat hit would be uncharacteristic of a nice sip of cappuccino! It isn’t so sweet that the coffee bean element becomes lost and it has a very subtle bitter aftertaste like the real thing. I definitely will be vaping more of this!

Apple:

The Apple flavor is today’s winner! The apple is candy-like rather than a tart apple flavor you’d find in dessert e-liquids like apple pie liquids I’ve tried. It isn’t overly sweet and has a bit of a tangy taste, like a Jolly Rancher sweet. It even has a slight cooling effect even though it lacks menthol or mint. Good throat hit even at the 12mg strength I’ve selected. Steeping might improve the flavor but it’s great as is. A basic flavor and not much more to add, but it’s a high-quality liquid that produces great flavor, tons of vapour, and a pleasant vaping experience.

While I wouldn’t classify Healthier Smoker’s Wicked E Juice as “gourmet” e-liquid, this comprehensive product line offers the Irish and European market a reliable and quality-assured e-liquid solution. Nonetheless my criticism would be that most of these flavors are quite basic, one-dimensional options, such as Raspberry, Menthol, Orange, and Butterscotch. While there are certainly some more complex looking flavours on the site, I would have expected to see a premium or house speciality line to complement the basic flavors with more select recipes. These are what I would call staple flavors and Healthier Smoker offers quite a lot of them. For a vaper who isn’t necessarily on the hunt for that “perfect” vape at a premium price or just has a simpler palette with a more modest budget, this line of e-liquids is perfect for you. But due to its quality, pricing, and variety, Wicked E Juice will suit many e-cigarette users, and through their product and marketing efforts, Healthier Smoker is introducing a growing population of Irish to a smoke-free lifestyle.

Taking into consideration my overall impression, including correspondence with management, customer service, quality of its website, selection of e-gear offered, and their proudly produced in Ireland e-liquid, I happily give Healthier Smoker an excellent review.
