nearly 20 years ago I got, as an adult, a "Mental handicap, learning disability, whatever the current term for it is" along with a lot of physical problems. All from Nasty Motorbike Smash and resulting brain injuries and coma.
Vision bad, fine motor and touch skills bad, recoiling is still a thing tio be attempted and mixing juice worries me with the vision etc. Any advice for simple "Get me By" measures for, funnily enough, measuring the ingredients when I try mixing?
Basically I am less skilled than a 5 year old playing with plasiicine at Primary school but I do want to start.

The easiest option is going to be starting with a premixed blended flavour and a preblended base. Try the T-Juice range of concentrates and mix them at 20% that involves putting a 10ml bottle of concentrate into a 50ml bottle and topping up to the 50ml mark with a PG/VG/Nic base of your preferred concentration. Bear in mind you will be watering down the nic quite a bit so depending on your preferred nic level you will need to choose a base that is slightly higher. 12mg base comes out around the 9mg level, 18mg base will give you something like a 15mg finished product.

It really can be as simple as that so I can't see why it would be beyond you to create a juice for your own use that way. Marking the bottle at the 50mg point by tipping 5x10ml of water into it first and marking with a pen would be a good idea. Any preblended concentrate that recommends around the 15-20% mark would be suitable, I only said t-Juice because I know that one works.

More complex mixes would really mean using a syringe so it might be worth getting hold of a 5ml and a 3ml syringe and seeing how you get on with them.

Hope this helps :)

Hope I'm not being impertinent as a relative newb but how about buying you Nic in bulk at the strength you want rather than trying to get your MLs/drops dilution right, not as cheap but at least you don't have to worry about ODing :)

Getting a flavour % wrong is annoying but getting the Nic wrong could be worrying :(

You go for it mate :)

It is difficult to know how to help without knowing more about your condition and whether you live alone, have care workers etc.

My suggestion would be to use a 100ml measuring cylinder graduated in 1ml increments.

If your vision is so bad that you cannot easily see the markings then perhaps you could mark off the key divisions with tape, marker pen, etc.

When it comes to the mixing I will give an example of one of my mixes - 50%VG, 6mg nicotine and 15% flavour (Red Astaire for instance)

1 Add 50ml Vegetable Glycerine to the cylinder. 50ml mark
2 Add 15ml Red Astaire concentrate 65ml mark
3 Add 8.3ml 72mg nicotine 73 and a bit ml mark
4 Top up to the 100ml mark with Propylene Glycol

It doesn't matter if you are a bit off with any of the steps as it won't make much difference to the final mix.

The ingredients are poured straight from the bottles they come in.

After all the ingredients are added just pour into a bottle for storage (using a funnel if necessary).

Rinse the cylinder out with hot water and dry ready for the next mix.

I feel for you, my Father broke his neck aged 34 and was paralysed from the neck down.
He made a partial recovery but had limited mobility for the remainder of his life.

It is a fine line between offering help and seeming to be condescending so I sincerely hope that I have caused no offence by wrongly estimating your abilities.

I worried about that too. Would hate to think I had insulted someone while trying to help :(

As said above, there is an "easy, no measuring needed" way to get into DIY.
Using concentrates that blend at 20%, using 72mg nic base, aiming for around 14mg final nic, and not being too fussy about PG/VG ratios.
1. Pour the whole 10ml bottle of concentrate into a 50ml bottle. 2. Fill the empty concentrate bottle with your 72mg nic base. 3. Pour this into your 50ml bottle.
4. top up the 50ml bottle with your PG and VG (guessing amounts of PG/VG won't do any harm)
That's it - 50ml of DIY juice done and it will be around 14mg - 15mg nicotine strength.
Even taking discrepancies into consideration (with regards to the nicotine base) you'll never end up with an unsafe nicotine strength, because even if you fill the empty 10ml concentrate up to the brim with the 72mg base, your final nic will never be above 18mg.

Another vote for t-juice and premixed base here. It's a great confidence builder and will give great results.

Thanks for the Thoughts and ideas so far, much appreciated.
with regard to the injuries, I get times, like just now, when I might be making some sort of sense but there are other times, random and no warning, when I am just not safe to be in charge of my own head! I do have people to help on a daily basis so I might end up getting the ingredients and asking them to oversee when I mix.
I like the idea of mixing up from pre mixed flavours as a simple start. I actually did make a mix if, really, Cherry Menthol and Choc a nana from LiQuid a few days ago and it is actually really nice.
