Never drop or tap Ego batteries, they could just die.
One of my batteries was lighting up but not heating the atomizer. I tapped it on the table a few times (actually thumped it) and the light went off too. As I was tapping this battery, I mistakingly tapped my good battery and that died too.
I opened them up and found that the wires had come off. The reason for the wire coming off is that the casing is slightly longer than the actual battery. When the battery is tapped, the cell inside, slides down, the wire stretches and disconnects.
Having resoldered the connection, I placed a little cardboard packing in the casing to fill the gap. Now my battery will not disconnect if tapped.

Dropping a battery/device/ecig is never to be recommended but it happens. I have to say my egos have coped with some abuse over the years and haven't died on me. I'm no expert and wouldn't have the skills or confidence to take one apart though! Stuffing flammable cardboard in sounds a bit dodgy to me, speaking as a layman ?

I broke one open by sitting on it in a back pocket. It was an easy repair. Having said that, there seems to be a great difference in quality between makes (with unbranded and shop own brands at the bottom of my personal 'tree') and my Biansi Ego battery seems 'tough as old boots'.

I strongly do not suggest anyone opens their batteries to try to fix them if they break unless you are familiar with electrics and battery chemistry. They are cheap enough to chuck and buy a new one if it goes bad.

Couldn't agree more. Safety first guys and gals

I've sat on mine lots in my back pocket, they usually separate at the join under the button. They are just a push fit and go back together easily. Unfortunately I did it for the last time on Saturday and both of the cables came off of the pcb :( they have been dropped plenty and are showing a lot of dents all over the casing. Never had a problem before.

Possibly the genuine ones I buy are of a better design, but I've had no complaints with mine and will always buy more.

Ive not had any problems with mine (900 mah and 650 mah) theyve been dropped, sat on, fallen on the floor and are still ok
