Hi all,
Wondering if you can help? I'm a newbie looking to ditch the rollies and switch to vaping. I've tried a few vapes and the Smok nord seems to hit the spot. However I am really really struggling with liquids they all seem to be really really sweet! I'm using/trying Nic Salt and have tried all sorts. Any suggestions for liquids without the sweetness? Anything coffee, tobacco, aniseed or well anything not sweet!! Also whats the highest nic salt % you can buy?
Thanks in advance and sorry if this has been asked before - I did try to search!

Hello and a jolly spiffing welcome to you, wot wot.
In the UK the high nic content you can buy is 20mg. For tobacco salts have a look at the Firewater range by Manabush.

Firewater by manabush is good. Also Indigene by manabush is not so sweet and it quite tobacooey in a nice way.

My friend hates sweet tobaccos and he swears by congress by ichor liquids, though I'm not so keen.

The Dinner Lady tobacco range isn't too sweet, nor is the element tobacconist range. (Dinner Lady may have been reformulated recently, not sure if they're any sweeter now, but it's a possibility).

Finally, you could try getting some nic shots (unflavoured 18mg liquid) and adding your own flavours. These are available from vapable.com at about £1 each.

Welcome btw. :welcome2:

I started exactly where you are - I don't like most flavours and find them overly sweet. I went exactly where you did (tobacco, coffee, aniseed) and did eventually discover that I quite like sweet tobacco flavours, Manabush in particular (including the Firewater).

Good place to start might be somewhere like Liquid - cheap enough to make a few mistakes and work out what you do and don't like. The flavour quality is a bit variable but mostly reasonable, I started on their RY4 and Black Tobacco (and Capuccino) before moving on to Manabush, but you might prefer the straight tobacco flavours.

Hello :)
I tend to vape Nic salts when I want something sweet, because sometimes my sweet tooth needs that kind of hit.

However I've tried a few that haven't been overly sweet. I can't help with coffee or aniseed as I've not tried any. Tobacco ones, "gold rush" by "salt" is tobacco, nuts and spices and isn't overly sweet.

Generally if you look for tobacco flavour profiles that don't contain vanilla, caramel or anything like that then it shouldn't be too sweet, so spices, nuts etc rather than sugary. There's quite a few just straight "tobacco" flavours, it's a case of just trying a selection. When I first started vaping a year ago I bought loads of tobacco flavours to try, some I hated, some were good. I ended up sticking with "555" by element which is nuts and tobacco (worth a punt) and other similar ones.

I would also recommend Firewater by manabush, its a cigar and bourbon type flavour with different varieties, and I believe you can get a 20mg Nic Salt version (the lower Nic versions are freebase nicotine). It's not too sweet either.

If you want to try normal freebase nicotine, 12mg should be manageable, it will seem harsher than Nic Salt, but you get used to it lol, there are some really nice tobacco flavours, "grey Mari" by "druids brew" is a Turkish tobacco, and head over to manabush and look at their selection of tobacco flavours :)

It will be a learning curve with flavours as to what you like, over time I've started to enjoy fruit flavours more and more over tobacco ones, but always have three or four flavours ready to go, from dessert, to fruit to tobacco.

Best bet would be to order four or five flavours, with three being the just tobacco you want, and maybe two that just "sound nice" to you, you may be surprised that it's these flavours that you end up going for.

Good luck! And in the UK 20mg is the highest Nicotine level you can buy.

It often takes a while to find flavours you like so +1 to @MHL idea of nic shots, not only can you add flavours of your choice but you can use them to dilute flavours that you are not too keen on, or just vape them without flavour.
I find zero flavour much nicer than nasty flavour and to my tastes most liquids have too much flavour and are better at a half or a quarter of the strength.

+1 to @Crewella ry4 sugestion they tend imo easy going.

You are still smoking.
Stop that now {or soon as possible)

Feel like a fag? just vape. The urge will go away.
Everytime you feel like a fag, vape instead. it really is that simple.

If the flavour is getting in the way just vape zero flavour till you find flavours you like.
Smoking is stupidly expensive. You can afford to try different flavours but do not wait to find flavours before stopping smoking.

Good luck.

Totally agreed. A no flavour/no nic juice is part of my rotation. Ironically it reminds me a bit of light tobacco (Marlboro Gold i.e.)

My experience with flavoured juices has been quite checkered. Many don't live up to their outrageous descriptions.

Currently I like (all concentrates):

  • Heisenberg at 15 % (Vampire vape)
  • Pinkman at 15 % (Vampire vape)
  • Peppermint Rock at 15 % (Vampire vape)
  • Lime Fizz at 10 % (Big Juice UK)
O/T: is it possible to upload images here, rather than hotlink?

Flavourless liquid is not for me - it's as bad as sweet! ;)
