Last year, when I was writing up the history of the electronic cigarette, I mentioned Herbet A. Gilbert, who is considered by many to be the inventor of the modern electronic cigarette.

Fortunately, Herbert, now in his 80′s, did read the post, got in contact with me, and the following interview (I believe the first ever blog interview with the inventor of the e-cigarette) is the result!

Theyre all clones of his original patent!

HG: There is no electric cigarette today, that I have seen, that does not follow the basic road map set forth in my original patent. If you remove any part shown in my original patent from their electric cigarette it will not function.
