Another nic salt or freebase question

Last time I stocked up nicotine salts weren't a thing, my old frozen stuff is 42mg freebase juice.

The guides say nic salts have less of a throat hit and can't be used in sub-ohm tanks.
Most manufacturers stopped making 30,40,50mg freebase juices. (its mostly 3mg and 6mg)

...I'm trying to setup and rta for my wife to replace the no longer available logic menthol (27mg freebase).

I'd recommend picking up a 10ml salt nicotine shot and seeing what you think.

I can't vape any salt nicotine, makes me cough and irritates me throat.

I've vaped salts almost exclusively for 2 years mtl. Only just getting back in to regular nic. Enjoying 12mg regular as forgotten what throat hit was even like. And I was vaping 35mg nic salt!

Nic salt isn't recommended for subohm at the high concentrations it can come in. If it's diluted down to appropriate subohm nic levels then it's absolutely fine to use. Just don't go subohming 35 or 50mg nic salt.

i think if your wife is used to puffing 27mg freebase she might find salt nic a bit weak and lacking oomph.

I ordered 100mg freebase nic in prep for the PACT/shipping ban from River Supply last month to try, then decide to get more or nic salt, but they haven't shipped yet so now I have to make an educated guess.

Her convenience store brands of pre-filled pens are: about 30mg freebase nic. Fire right at low subohm wattage (low teens). Have much more PG than VG, making bigger harsher clouds than 50/50 liquids

She's decided on a box mod Restricted lung tank. The 6mg free base juices didn't weren't strong enough.
Neither did the 18mg low watt nic salt pods.

Subohm tanks and high strength nicotine are not compatible as far as I (and most people) are concerned. Vaping 30mg of anything in a subohm tank is, IMHO, nuts and will probably make her ill. If she wants to vape high strength nicotine buy her a mtl rta or a pod device designed for use with juices with that kind of nicotine level.

Sub ohm tanks are about lower nic but high vapour volume. If you want high nic level then it should be in lower vapour production. Super high nicotine and high vapour consumption is just asking for trouble. You'll give her nicotine poisoning.

you should maybe forget nic salt and start at 10mg freebase. it could work up to about 20 or so watts. if it’s not strong enough for her bump it up a few mg at a time until she is happy with it.

but not with a cloud tank, i wouldn’t think. something like a loose mtl tank would be best.

I use nic salt at 12mg and vape it at about 40/50w at the moment. I don't get headaches or feel sick but that might just be me. Being honest I'm not sure it's as effective as a lower dose of freebase nic but it's what I'm used to now. I also MTL it at 36mg and feel that this also works just as well.

The idea with Nicotine is to lower the amount you use, Nic salts are great when you first stop smoking and though they are high Nic i thought that after a few weeks you should be ready for a lower nic freebase liquid. I keep swapping and changing between 12mg and 6mg always trying to lower it when it's right to do so. i am back up to 12mg again so might try and drop it to 9 or 10mg, 6 for me is too much of a drop atm.

i’m not sure, reducing nic isn’t something i really bother about at all. i did try going from 12 to 9 a while ago, not because i wanted to reduce nic, but because i thought i was puffing too much of it and it was making me feel a bit strange. but it didn’t last long, straight back to 12 i went.

i think this depends on the individual.
