Any suggestion for the starter kit

Hello Cjelle,

As many vapers would suggest, if you're new to vaping, keep things simple at first, and choose a simple Mouth to Lung set up, as MTL best replicates the act of smoking. With Mouth to lung tanks, one draws into the mouth first then inhale, just like smoking. The other kind is Direct to Lung or Sub Ohming; these are more powerful, and the vapour is inhaled direct into the lung. Some newbies can find these a bit too powerful to start with.

I started with the Aspire Zelos 50 watt mod & the either the Nautilus, Nautilus 2 Nautilus 2S, or Nautilus mini tank, would be a good place to start with. No need to buy a seperate battery with the Zelos, as it's built in, recharged via USB cable. I still use mine today..a year after i bought it. It's small, compact, easy to use and the battery comes built in, and lasts reasonably well with high resistance coils typically used in MTL tanks, typically the 1.6 or 1.8 ohm coil. Juice also lasts longer with MTL set ups. With MTL, you can vape higher strenght nicotine up to the legal maximum of 20mgs strenght in the UK. An Aspire Zelos & Nautilus 2 tank kit will cost around £50 or so, maybe less if you can find a good deal.

There are many many others mods and kits out there..they're all different & no doubt plenty of other vapers will come forward with their suggestions soon.

Good luck with it, hope you'll soon find something that'll help you kick those stinkies.

Good advice but consider also a Zenith kit
either the regular Kroma kit or the dinky coolfire kit with slightly narrower D22 Zenith tank

https://www.planetofthevapes.co.uk/.../innokin-coolfire-mini-zenith-d22-kit.175272/

Almost completely foolproof system on the Zenith

There are also other options for smokers trying to quit like pen types or pod systems
(I not used pods so can't comment personally, a Zenith Kroma kit is very good if you can run to it)

Kroma kit will set you back around £45 - bigger battery life
Coolfire D22 maybe about £35 on Amazon - dinky system

as said other options but just my two cents/tanks/kit

best of luck finding a kit that works to help you in giving up

PS - your other issue is deciding upon an e-juice to start vaping with
you may end up with a kinda tobacco flavor to emulate the fags
or a slightly sweet baccy flavour perhaps but likely a kinda baccy something at first
though you may move onto other types of juice too

it will likely be a 50/50 mix - don't worry too much about all this too much
most decent setups will handle most juices very well so the PG & VG ratio shouldn't be a massive deal

Nicotine levels - probably about 16mg give or take a bit depending how heavy you smoked
I would say do not go below 12mg nicotine at first/for a good while or you may find it doesn't hit your nic fix

I started on 16mg and dropped slowly to about 11mg
then after about 2 years just about dropped to 6mg in stages but I might need to go back up a bit
you being a smoker will likely not be able to drop below 12mg for a while
worst thing you can do is try too low nic and give up coz you are not feeling it so go back to fags
so you need to ween yourself off the higher nic a bit by bit
so yeah 16mg is a good place to start or deffo no lower than 12mg even if you was a casual Silk Cut smoker

Doubt if you need much more than 16mg unless you were chain smoking Old Holbun etc....
coz most vaping stuff now is much more effective & efficient than the stuff a few years ago

But take what I say with a pinch of salt as everybody's vaping journey is slightly different
it was only a rough guide based upon my own experiences - not gospel set in stone

Look at the jac vapour website. I can’t recommend them highly enough.

Innokin zenith kit..great for starters and veterans..great bit of kit..easy to use good solid builds and easy coil change and filling could not be easier.

All good suggestions above. If you are looking for a pen style kit the Innokin Endura T18 ll is one of the best.

All great advice. Im a newbie vaper too and cant recommend Zenith Kroma highly enough, in fact Ive just bought a second.
Fuctifino has it in one...its a matter of finding all those points re kit, juice and nic level.
A word of warning though - even though MTL is most 'like' smoking it still isnt - and you will have to 'learn' to vape - just as you did with smoking. I coughed my head off at first - wrong vape pen, wrong flavour juice (for me tobacco was too harsh), way too harsh nic level (at first) .
I had to get used to smoking a vape and although its a fab tool its NOT a replacement and you still may find times when you are craving a cig. You wont automatically get that magic cure - so dont expect it to be that. I am a month in and Im on 18mg and actually going to try nic salts as Im struggling at the mo with 'just' 18. Crazy! (I was a very heaver roll your own smoker though).
Take your time, do your research, ask the good people here and congrats. Its a such an exciting time for me despite the slightly down aspects - I love love love trying different flavours, love reading about new kits (would also like a Zelos but Im being good :D ) and feel like Ive found a real way to actually quit without climbing the walls.
All the very best!

I was tempted to suggest duct tape across the mouth as a good device to stop smoking
but you can still stick a fag up ya nostils & blow it out your ears & all sorts of weird tricks

have a looksey, do some research and you should pick something to help you quit
you will still need a good shot of will power though - switching to vaping is not a total walk in the park
but as many on here has found it is probably one of the most successful methods
(vaping finally worked for me after countless failures of gum patches hypnosis vids etc....)

good setup, decent juice/nic and some willpower to stick at it & you'll be sorted

The innokin t20s is a great kit with the 0.8 ohm coil and some 18mg e liquid and you will be off to a good start.

There are some great shouts here. My advice is check them all out and see if a local vape shop will let you try a few and see which is best for you.

I’ve just bought the Vaporesso Renova Zero pod for using in the house (and craft work vaping). It’s got great flavour and you smoke it just like a ciggie. It’s excellent flavour. Put in a high nic juice and you will be well away. Less than a score as well.
