Athena Squonk build?

I bought the Athena Kit out of enthousiasm, but found out my batteries and my build I was about to use weren't safe for the mod. Going to buy VTC5a's tomorrow.

My question is, can you recommend me a build with good flavor? Needs to be around 0.22 ohms or higher to be safe.

I have the mod(s) but not the atty, is it single coil? If you like a nice warm vape then my go to build is a 5 wrap SS alien coil. I suppose fused claptons would give a similar result as well.

My problem with the Athena kit was getting enough vapour from my builds. I tried multiple dual coil builds using claptons, plain wire etc but I could not get a low enough resistance to get the most out of the battery.

In the end I plumped for 2 x 6 wrap spaced SS 22awg 3.5 i.d. flatwire coils coming in at exactly 0.1 ohm.

This is a low ass build as anyone will tell you but as my usage is low, battery stays cool and vapour production is where I want it.

I run a lot of mods and tanks consecutively (19 to be precise) so I am never using the Athena for very long before I move on. I wouldn't recommend the above build if chain vaping is your intention, as it may overstress your batteries.

My coworker also said the Athena could easily handle 0.1 ohm as long as you don't chainvape.

I'd be wary of having such a low build in that mod myself.
You could, but it would be well on the edge of brown alert. Even running a VTC5A in there, hmm....

The atty is dual coil so I'd recommend either 24 or 25g Brochrome from Stealthvape or some 0.5mm nichrome. say 7/8 wraps with 3mm inner. that'll be fine and around 0.2 ohms. That's the build I run in my mechs and it is a decent balance of cell life and a decent toot.

Never tried brochrome. If it's good enough for your mechs, then I should definitely try it. Never felt overly comfortable using .1 ohm builds (obviously)

Brochromes awesome. I use it in all my attys now. Tend to build around 0.3-0.4ohms but it’s also really good in a parallel build if you want to build lower. Super fast ramp up and TONS of flavour

Christ I had the opposite problem. It was a fog machine.
That rda is a definite sleeper. A cracking squonk rda and the mod is a belter.
I put a 3mm 24 awg brochrome flatwire coil in it coming in at a safe as houses 0.4 ohms and boom vapour and flavour for day's.
I don't like mech squonkers but I've tried and reviewed a lot and this really is the cream of the crop.
