Hi all

Has any tried the banana natural & organic flavourings from Alchemist cupboard or should I stick to the Capella banana flavour drops that they sell.

Banana's can vary from different manufacturers. The 2 i've used are Totally Wicked's Gold Standard Banana which tastes as close to genuine banana as i can imagine, and The Flavour Apprentice Ripe Banana which is the other end of the spectrum, tastes lovely and artificial, like that banana flavoured amoxycillin medicine i used to get prescribed for toncilitus as a kid :)

So if you want a realistic banana or a strong synthetic banana those 2 are really good :grin2:

Cool I'll take a look at the totally wicked then coz Im after a more natural taste. I mention Alchemist cupboard coz that's who Im ordering the starter kit from.

If you're just starting out and ordering from alchemists cupboard I can recommend picking up a bottle of their ethyl maltol. You can make up your own with the crystals and pg, but I've started off with their ready to go bottle.

I've had the N&O Grape Flavouring that they stock, it smells incredible but the juice I have made was only done last night so with steeping only time will tell. If you do buy some can you drop me an inbox & let me know what it's like because i was planning on making a big flavour order to the guys at alchemist this week? :D

I did buy recently but I'd have to check which I bought and funny you should say you did a batch last nigh coz I too will be mixing but not until this weekend. I'll let you know which I bought and what it tastes like. I was told I should use a higher percentage with the organic Ines as there not as strong on tsste

Do you know what sort of mix ratios we're talking? Well the thing is I mixed up at 20% flavouring with a few drops of ethyl maltol to give it a bit of sweetness :)

Thanks for posting that, I now know exactly what to use in my planned Banana Custard. ;)

After making my first mix approx 48 hours ago, and having a slight banana taste coming through, I was also wondering which concentrate would be best (ie natural), but then I visited the pub rather than asking.
