Hi guys....a quick question.....I recently been using a tecab aka an ecab with 510 threat with a esmart 1.8 clearo, batt is 10440 3.7v 350mah been working until one day my bat went flat and didn't have charger so I borrowed bros evod 650 mah batt for temp and stuck my esmart clearo on that....low and behold nice warm tasty vapour and loads of it.....wtf.....my 10440 batt is 3.7v his evod batt is 3.7v why the major difference in taste and vapour production??? Is it the ampere.... What am I missing?? Thx

Hi, i suspect your 350mah battery can't produce enough amps. The 'mah' rating is a measure of capacity, or how much it holds, so that bit doesn't mean it put's out less amps. Instead batteries have a discharge rating, not always listed and usually labelled as 'C' which stands for capacity (i think). So a 2C battery can put out two times it's own capacity in amps. A 2C rated 500mah batt can produce 1 amp (2 x 500).

So it's likely that your 350mah battery doesn't have as higher discharge rating. It may have also lost some oomph if it has been used allot. Is it very old?

Anyway, i don't even have a vape yet so i am newb. But it could be your batteries discharge rating is lower that your bro's, and is struggling to supply the coil. Does the '1.8' refer to resistance? If the resistance is lower the current draw will be higher and a better battery (discharge rate) will better supply the coil. So get a better battery. Not necessary higher mah though, you need a better 'C' rating.

Also wait for actual vaperers to answer ;)

Joyetech lists the e-cab as 3.3v, like (too many) of their batteries.
... and an evod, freshly charged, will get to 4.0v, maybe 4.1v.

That could be it, or I could be talking doo-doo. :)

Ahh I'm using efset 10440 3.7v batteries and not the ones that come with the ecab

I notice the difference between 14500s and 18650s - bigger battery bigger umph. I find 18350s have the perfect balance between umph and physical size.

Right, the 10440 batteries you've been using supply about 1a discharge current, the Ego will supply more than twice that. The batteries you're using are simply underpowered - solution, Buy an EGo battery or two - the 1100mah ones are great but get the good ones not a cheap one. See the misrepresented mah ego batteries thread if you want to know why...

Ahh understandable, possible to buy 10440 with higher amp discharge or are they limited if so I'm thinking of moving to a 14500 mod...

I have been thinking. (might be rubbish)

Surely, even though the battery says "3.7v" the e-cab regulates it to 3.3v.

3.3v with 1.8ohms = 6 watts.
4.0v with 1.8ohms = 8.8 watts.

That's a big difference.

I have a Joyetech 18650 mod tube. If I vape on it (without switching to un-regulated) it's not that great. Certainly not as good an evod 650.

The e-cab must have a widget in it to regulate it to 3.3v.

I'm afraid the 10440 is at it's limits there, you'll need bigger batteries - An EGo 1100 twist is a good option or you could try one of the bigger mods...
