Everyone will have their opinion on this.

I'm just curious - mainly because I want to expand my collection of authentic mechs (ok, it currently stands at 2 but that's not the point).

I'm interested to hear people's thoughts, especially on things like voltage drop and switch quality.

Looking forward to some interesting debate / reading.

Ta :-)

Whichever you go for, choose decent quality materials & good machining that fasten together well, top & bottom battery contacts of brass, copper or silver plate copper. If telescopic avoid the ones with loose fitting threads & movement between the two sections. Sprung switches are totally fine so long as the switch assy is well made, magnets are optional, better in some mods than others & should be as close to the correct size as possible.
Clean threads keep a mech more efficient.
My fave' type of top positive pin is a single piece floating one but that is not always practical for all mods. The other floating type with a battery rattle adjuster is good too, reverse threads help for that part. Some have the other atty adjuster screw in the top of the pos' pin & i like those too.
I prefer an o ring or decent insulator on the switch where the battery sits rather than bare metal.
Stiff or hard to press mech switches will haunt you forever, no good to nobody regardless of the mod.

Personally, i think the dual 18650 mech is just right & the two i have now are kings in my house, the voltage drop off is far more subtle & a longer time coming, 1 charge a day at most but more like every two days on a pair of 25r's.
If you know that you will vape above 0.5ohm it might be worth checking out the samsung 30q's, they will be my next batteries & i build above 1ohm.
I'm intrigued by the idea of a 26500 tube !

I like good machining, a nice weight and a nice button. This Kontrabida Kustoms Novus has all 3 and was my first authentic mod. I hardly use it these days as I haven't been able to find a nice 30mm atty to go with it:

Stick a 22mm atty on top, a tall one :D There must be something that looks ok on it, even a smaller atty....surely.

I've got this tiny dripper which looks like a hat on it, but I hardly drip either.

Knowing you, it's probably an acronym for a masturbation technique, but I have to ask, is that an atty? :D

Yep, atty.

It takes the base of a Kayfun and is then a big fatter Kayfun. Looks nice, various sizes. I'll try and remember to dig mine out tomorrow for some pictures on the Megan.
