Finally pulled some photos together of my new box.

This is my first project using a MOSFET and has been an interesting journey.

I started out with a Hammond box I picked up from a friend months back and there it sat until a big bag of parts (including switches, 2.5mm and 1.5mm wire, volt board, USB board and 510) arrived from www.modmaker.co.uk (@seedy) a couple of weeks back, and I could finally look at my options. 2x18650 Keystone battery fitted nicely and left space for the USB charge board, and power switch.

The lid/box has been fitted with magnets which have been fitted opposite poles top to bottom so the lid only goes on one way and is tool free.

I have fitted a volt display to gauge battery life and I also put an LED at the top to indicate power on from outside.

I am still testing the box (after I found that I needed a different MOSFET (thanks to Sparky!))but everything is looking great. I wanted to get through a full charge down to 3.1-3.2V before putting up pics but have been going 3 days and still only at 3.6V so I guess a realistic 4000mAH does last a bloody long time! I must wait though before I tidy/glue/wrap everything up, I have made that mistake before! Everything is sitting real nice without glue though, not a thing has moved or rattles with usual out and about abuse. I have been alternate running with a 1.3ohm Kayfun in the day and 0.2ohm(ish) Origen at night which is running at about 70W with no issues and nothing warming. The Phat daddy 22mm 510 connector seems to be taking everything I can throw at it!

My main goal was to build a long life all weekend box, one I could throw in a bag and rely on all day. Somehow it's turned into something a bit more.
I know plenty of people will hate the paint, but hey, I built it for me and I wanted a big crazy box! I took photos in different light hopefully will show the finish better, it's not perfect but I am very happy with how it's turned out so far.

Hope you can make sense of all that, I seem to be rambling. Prob should drop my nic vaping at 70W!

that's good going @fasteddie600
wonder how long 2 vtc5 would last !

I want to get some vtc5's in there! I was planning on ordering them this week along with a new ohm meter, to get testing some high power builds then I can get it finished off inside.

It's seems to be starting to get tired, i am getting some cut-off now with the 0.2ohm coil as battery voltage is dipping to 3.2 under load. I have switched over to a Diver V2/SnP 1.5ohm build and its firing away at 3.5V happily, it looks like this MOSFET cut's off at a nice point. I will charge it tonight to check the charger.

Great looking project and love the custom painted box. Nice and clean inside, Congrats.

There was me thinking everyone would hate the paint! Thanks for the positive comments!

Nice tidy box there mate, right down to the shirt and tie. Smart the way everything can be just lifted out of the box..

awesome and love the paint too :D I've got 5 of those battery boxes hmmmmmm now i am thinking again lol :D
