Anybody made their own version of this?

No, but it would be nice to know if anyone did. I mix a regular Red Astaire with 75VG, but it is hard to put a finger on exactly what goes into The Black.

On the homemade red astaire at the moment as well but it's not a patch on the black.

I'm guessing blackcurrant and a small amount of aniseed but I'm not sure on the rest. Will experiment this weekend and see what I come up with.

I've heard 3 drops of blackcurrant per 10ml of made up red astaire is close. Not tried black astaire but will be soon when I get some blackcurrant

Really? I made a mix I called Xmas Astaire for a mate ... 12% RA and 4% Flavourart Blackcurrant Licorice ... it's still red ... tastes OK when you're in the Astaire mood.
