Can I vape on a plane, in an airport?

While leaving the US I kicked my self for packing away my 510 penstyle. I repeatedly left the airport to go outside and smoke as we checked in very early (luckily our Airport was small) I hate flying so my nerves were through the roof. I was laden with a lot of anti anxiety meds too.

However, upon going through security a woman in a wheelchair ahead of me looked back, held hers up and smiled. "You should invest in one of these." We got into the conversation and it turns out she used hers all over the place at the airport and IN planes. She said she always asked a stewardess but if there was an issue, she spent a while in the bathroom every flight if it got that bad.

While I have never had any experience vaping in a plane or at the airport, if you have, tell us about it.

My views are to keep it stealthy and either vape in the toilets or just stealth vape. It's not about the legalities of it as we all know it's ok to vape anywhere, it's about not making it a problem for anyone else, yourself included. The stewardesses are there to earn a living so are not going to give a toss one way or another. They will just want to get from a to b with the least amount of hassle possible. But if some tosser passenger takes umbridge for whatever reason and complains it puts the cabin crew in a position where they have to be seen to be doing something about it.

I recent travelled to Serbia and stealth vaped, sometimes not so stealthvaped the whole way. Didn't have a problem, although on the way back a huge scary looking Serbian security dude with a big gun did a funny double take when he saw my box mod / remote detonator. When I explained what it was and took a toke he was cool and just said 'I've never seen one that looks like that before'.

Vapes on a plane? I don't think there has been a CAA or BAA ruling - yet. But agree with the above. There was an idiot vaping like a train in Tesco the other week and having a big argument with their security. They sell food FFS.

I have twice flown to Turkey via Glasgow airport and gone through with an ego style battery, and liquid. Never had a problem. Vaped quietly into a fleece blanket all through the flight and openly at both airports. Had to put up with dirty looks from the other passengers though who were stuck waiting for the 4 1/2 hour flight knowing they couldn't smoke.

Only comment ever made by staff was a cabin crew as I was leaving my seat who asked if it was an epi-pen in my mouth. When I told her it was an e-cig she just said "ahh".
