Hey guys,
I just bought a smok stick v8
Baby and the top of the tank won't unscrew. I can only move the airflow at bottom of tank and open the swivel part at top of tank, to re fill. Could it be defective? Also the top swivel part opens too easy. It says you have to push down then open. Mine just opens. Plus I can't work out the verification code. Here's a pic

Apart from the usual of try rubber gloves/tea towel, i cant help.

Someone with knowledge will be along in the next few hours, I'm sure.

If not, bump this thread as may get buried.

My top cap only opens not push down on all three of my tfv8 babies. So I would say that's normal.

You might have slightly over tightened i did once and couldn't get it open by hand.

Use the plastic type jar openers or if you have them the ceramic tweezers with the grips.

Don't use metal grips unless you want to mark your tank to bits.

If you need it sooner then later try Amazon or better your local vape shop and see if they have some in.

Ref opening to easy, I had one like that and it seems to have got better with time not sure if it's to do with the seal / gasket for the top cap slightly swelling up.

I'm not going to comment on the problems you are having with this tank, as I do not see on the silver label, where the authentication code is hiding. The code should be under a scratch panel, which is normally at the bottom of the silver label roughly where yours says 00408259. And it should say "scratch here for authentication" or very similar wording. So unless you have a card inside the box instead (as companies do change things) that has the scratch panel on it, then I'm going to say that it is not an authentic smok product, hence why you are having problems with it.
Just found this http://www.smoktech.com/hotnews/products/all-security-labels-of-smok-products-upgrade You can see what the labels should look like, it shows both old and new versions.

Hi, sorry, I forgot to mention. The tank and battery is brand new. I will try some of the things you mentioned. It's like it's bloody not meant to open. Many thanks for your time.

It's likely over tightened at factory, if you have not used it I would try speaking to vendor to see if they will swap it out.

Here is a piccy of the back of the packaging of our V8 baby stick bought from a fellow ape a few months back.

I had trouble opening a silo beast for cleaning. In the end it opened up with very little pressure being applied.

Wrap rubber bands tightly round both parts of the tank to enable you to get a good grip @Smokey Gray.

Try putting the tank in the freezer for a while. If it still won't open, try dipping the top of the cold tank in hot water and trying again. Physics will hopefully be your friend!

Good luck [emoji106]
