Hi,

I have been getting a lot of information recently on Mech
mods recently such as Draw Tubes and Maxarus plus safety information. The question is, with an Ego/510 adapter will it be safe to use CE4's or Evods with a mech mod and other than the appeal of looks and simplicity will there be any performance improvement from using them with a mech as opposed to a standard Ego battery please ?

an ego battery is regulated to give a 3.7 volt vape but a fresh battery in a mech will give you 4.2 and then steadily lower through usage to about 3.5-3.6....its dependant on the ohms of the clearo head to how it will taste...personally if moving up from egos to mechs youd need to find the next step up from the ce4's too...maybe a cart tank...or dripper...or rba?...quite a lot to choose from :)

Thanks Jester, I am happy to keep with the CE4's for now provided they will be safe with the mechnicxal mod, then go onto a more advanced atomiser in due course, but wished to check the much would not overload them.

Kind regards.

when your evod dies you can rebuild the coil to 1.5 ohms ish and use on a mechanical.
My fav tank, and soo cheap

You can but you can't alter the voltage or wattage with a mech. With a fresh battery you'll probably have a good vape but you'll quickly notice a decline in performance. I think a low resistance ce4 is about 1.8ohms. Ideally, with a mechanical mod, you want to be at the most 1.3ohm imo and ideally around 1ohm.

To answer your question, if you use CE's with a resistance of lower than about 2.2ohms (higher wont give you hardly any vapour) with a mech mod, it will be fine. You wont overload it.

If your gonna shell out your hard earn queens heads on a nice new mech, batteries and charger ( with a safety bag to charge in we hope) its worth getting a dripper or entry level tank to go with it. You would not fork out for a kayfun and vape it on a ego battery so why not treat your taste buds to a nice tank if your getting a mech :)

I have to agree somewhat with this solely based on my own situation. I went from an evod battery to a mechanical mod (Nemesis clone) but i stuck with the evod clearomizers & a 510 adapter. There's no issue with safety, no more than anything else anyway. The problem i experience is inconsistent results when vaping on it. One day it tastes great & the next it's either lacking flavour or tasting burnt ... Or both. Then it's fine again for a bit & so on. By the time i get it right again i have wasted a tank of juice each time.
The mechanical mod is great with the 'torchy 18500 batteries' 1600mah but the whole situation has lead me towards more advanced tanks & i think that THAT is the ticket & the other niggles will only stop when i step up to the mark.

For what it's worth. I think that if you are quite new to vaping & do not want to get into mods etc too deep, the evod battery & clearo are a winner on their own. Two of those & you're vaping 24-7.

My first step up in the vaping world was an evod for my ego, and the evod is my must used piece of kit. I have 3 on me at all times so i have a choice of juice when out and about. I never liked the ce4's and love the fact the evod can be rewicked in no time if needs be. I would and have always recommended the evod to any new vapers. The evod works with minimal fuss and never lets me down.... its the ak47 of the vaping world :)
