A news report across the pond. Interesting choice of words from poisonings, to exposure ( which can mean little). But it's when The Dr in the video suggests that two drops of eliquid from a refill could kill....

The final line is probably more accurate....one day we could find a child who will 'ingest quite a bit and get very sick'

Hysterical innacuracy...and note the opening line about yet 'another warning' about ecigs

awwww look at the cute ickle mainstream media scare story.

Isn't it just all juvenile and underdeveloped and wildly exaggerated.

the ones that have been tested show some dangerous chemicals.”

By "dangerous chemicals" you are of course referring to nicotine? Which is a chemical, singular.

Dr. LoVecchio is calling for child safety caps for the refill bottles

Any idiot company that doesn't ALREADY use child resistant caps should be put out of business. I don't know of anyone that uses normal caps and it's been that way for several years at least.

Way to call for stuff that is already being done.

Oh and you have an interesting definition of "skyrocketing" but then you already knew that, didn't you.

P.S. care to share the figures for child nicotine exposure due to - oh I don't know - cigarettes? How about the child mortality figures for household cleaning products?

Oh, you can't include those figures for perspective as they would totally reveal how distorted and scare mongery your anti-e-liquid story is.

You don't say!?

"And, the concentration of nicotine in e-cigarettes and their liquid refills can be very high, he said. Some e-cigarettes don't contain any nicotine, but others contain up to 500 milligrams." Quote from Dr. Frank LoVecchio, Co-Director of the Poison Center

Eh? Do what? Did this guy win the best crayon drawing to get the job? Ok, I'm being facetious there, but really you'd think he would educate himself a little on the subject first before making such quotes...

Guess the lousy ill-informed Dr must have been hit over the head by a Russian Huge to think that an e-cig "could" contain up to 500 milligrams, and after his head had bounced out into the street it smacked the braindead reporter over the head too.

Why have I just read/watched that report? Oh yeah, because I was checking my eyes & ears still worked.

The interesting thing is that, for a change, he didn't call for a ban, just sensible safety measures.

And he's not necessarily wrong about the 500mg - e.g. the bottle of Snake Oil I have here contains 540mg (30 ml of 18mg).

All the other points that people have made above stand of course.

robteifi, I stand corrected; I must admit I was thinking of cartridge refills rather than bottled liquid.

Lauren Gilger is a twat.

ABC15 are irrelevant.

Arizona is shit.

it could if you bought that 100mg/ml nic base from overseas and filled a kayfun with it 5ML = 500Milligrams nobody I know would be so fucking stupid though - where do they dig up these so called experts

Personally I blame us the users for that sort of thing.
Keep your s..t out of reach of grubby little mitts and it won't happen.
Leave your lighter or matches where little tommy can get at them and BBQ time.
Leave those little pink pills laying around, yumyum sweeties, little tommy's of to A&E or worse.
And so on.
And so on.
When they say child PROOF cap. They actually mean child RESISTANT.
You need lock and key, for child proof. Or, always well out of reach.
