Could I have a dodgy batch of nic?

Afternoon , Just got my second batch of nicotine , Made two reciepes that I have done before. Had a test vape and getting a really bad sort of burning tyre taste and smell. Looking at the two bottles I have , one is quite clear and the other is like a straw colour & smells like burnt tyre.

I aint no expect and did not have this taste when using my first lot of nic, Has anyone with more knowledge then me , give me some advice as to what could be the problem?

Best way to tell is to make them up again with zero nicotine, and see if they now taste normal or just as bad.
If they are still rank then its the flavouring / VG / PG, on the other hand if they are perfect, then its the nic.

Sounds like the nic hasn't been stored / handed very well. Nicotine oxidises when it meets air and moisture and turns a darker colour and smells of arse. If you're not happy with it then contact the vendor telling them so.. they'll likely give you a refund... Or stick it in the freezer ready for the apocolyse and get some fresh stuff. I highly rate the stuff pirate vape sells.

Mr.Motivapr I made the same reciepe on saturday with the old Nic and its nice with none of this horrid taste or smell . Made two 30 ml batchs today ( did not even enter my head to smell the nic ,just gave it a bloody good shake) and it tastes like poo. I've only been mixing about a month . Ive made about 300ml of juice and have had this problem before today.

My limited understanding is that nic should not smell right?

Even good nic can have a SLIGHT straw or pinky colour, but it sounds like you have discovered the problem is the nic. Unless you are burning something. As above Pirates probably have the most colour free.

If you shake up your nic botle you will introduce oxygen which over time will make it go bad.

Nic has a peppery taste but shouldnt be harsh at the mg you vape, but defo not burnt tyre.

Defo not burning nothing. I may sound a bit of a noob but I have only brought 50ml batchs of nic before and the recomended site only sells 200ml. Have you guys got any other recommendations for smaller batch of nic , Which you know is good.

I am going to wait for the vendors reply . Like I said the first 50ml I have not had this problem.

Colour has very little to do with quality

I have had lovely nicbase thats quite dark in colour and smells very slightly earthy ...

I have had crystal clear nicbase thats smelt like Diesel or burning tires and hasn't been used


I know which Id rather use ..

Was just about to hit the panic button reading this thread, as the nic I've got is quite dark. Never had a problem with the taste either.
