Received my Aris in the post today. Unexpectedly it is etched with N102 instead of Aris.
The packaging and quick start guide also state N102.

Just finding this a bit odd ... wouldn't you?

Nope as one supplier who originally asked me if I wanted to stock them said it would be packaged as N102

I suspect it doesn't say council of vapors on the base either.

PM if you need more info scrumpox

pics for reference ... odd that every photo I've seen on this atty shows Aris etched on it.

I've been in touch with both UKecigstore and The Council of Vapor, and the N102 is absolutely genuine. Apparently the model number rather than the Aris is the prefered brand for the European market and the UK has both designations supplied and stocked.

I was a bit ambitious with my first build, using 10 wraps of 0.25 twisted Kanthal around a 3mm former, but my second build using 9 wraps of .32 Kanthal was more successful. Wicking with Muji both builds with vertical coils. No cloud chaser but as a recent convert from RTAs I really cannot be more pleased with this dripper. Deep well, no leaks, tons of flavour, plenty airy enough for me and just beautiful to look at.

Glad you got this sorted out...nothing worse than something bugging the life out of you..however would you name a Mars bar M102...or a Jaguar F101..I think not..wonder you decides what we prefer..If its called a Spade then its a Spade.

Thanks, yes, it's a weight off my mind.

Ferrari F40, 348, 456, Peugeot 308, 408 ... Kryptonite 454 "Big Block" whilst we're on a vaping/car model theme ... yes, we're lovers of evocative names like Testarossa, Silver Cloud and Ka (!!) but model numbers will do for me too.

You're absolutely right, the purpose of a dual designation remains something of a mystery. Apparently, so CoV say, continental Europeans like the model numbers and as we're Europeans ...

The real issue here wasn't about the naming but about authenticity and that has been cleared up, so whether it's etched with Aris or N102 means nowt to me now. I really like this atty so maybe it would be nice to have one of each ... :) ... maybe that was a purpose behind CoV's thinking?
