Bought a Cthulhu AIO v2 a few days ago. Thought I’d share my thoughts in case anybody was thinking about this set up for mtl.
Full disclosure this is my first AIO BORO style vape. Came from pods, switched to RTAs and mods with massive help from users here and still used a pod at work for convenience . I only vape NET tobaccos. Even in pods I have a NET liquid designed for pods only. I’ve had the v2 for two days so far.
Initial thoughts:
Box size is good not too big not really small. It’s lightweight enough with a battery and a full tank. It feels nice in hand comfortable. Fire button in a good position. Doesn’t feel cheap and the magnetic sides hold well. No rattles.
Drip tip it comes with feels nice. You can take the tip off and replace with any 510 drip tip if needed.
Battery and chip are on the other side to the tank which was a big draw for me because it didn’t want leaks to ruin either the battery or chip. Seemed like common sense to me.
Screen size is tiny but works and I can read it well enough.
Tank size is good and I’m getting decent flavour from the bridge. I do lift the coil to a high position. Always done this and found flavour has always been better being a shorter distance from the bridge. Happy to hear if this is right or wrong from experienced people. I’m using the 1.6mm air pin as I enjoy a loose mtl draw. But it comes with a 1mm, 1.2mm, 1.6mm, 2mm, 2.5mm, 3mm and a 3.4mm that was pre installed. So good range there.
Bad bits:
Res mismatches and mis fires galore. Cthulhu say do the top nut up with the drip tip provided. I say don’t do this. Use a tool then put the tip back on.
I’ve had to wind out the pin in the base of the mod all the way out to make decent contact with the tank. Wasn’t great out of the box you do need to tinker.
The tank leaked like a sieve. Was awful gone through 15ml of liquid trying to sort it out. In the end I took everything apart, washed everything out, took off the o ring on the bottom of the tank and refitted. You have to be super careful not to let the o ring get pinched on the sides of the tank glass/plastic. Wicking I didn’t think was that bad. It’s small but I only use 2.5mm claptons anyway. It takes some getting used to and some troubleshooting. But I do rate the flavour.
You have to be super careful with the build, wicking, and make sure it’s screwed down tight. Once that’s done I’m rating it. Not sure if this is somewhat standard with boro builds. Internet seems to think it is.
I have a BP Mods TMD lite tank delivered today with some gtx 0.60 coils and some pnp 0.60 coils. Plan was to switch the tanks out as and when. It’s nice to have the same vape with both options. Odds are il end up buying a new tank and bridge to replace the tank the v2 came with for something more robust. Any suggestions let me know. But for now I’ll use the tank it came with. No leaks overnight or today so fingers crossed I’ve solved it.
