Dry and smokey with almost an ashtray “I have been smoking” taste on exhale and a nutty mellow cigar taste.
I mixed first at 2.3% and it was not enough. 5% was a little too much and after fiddling with a calculator cut it back to 4% which seems right for me.
After steeping for 5 days– the dryness subdued the ‘ashtrayness’ mellowed and the cigar flavours came more forward. After 7 days it was a richer vape. The ‘ashtray effect’ by the way is a positive – it feels like you have been smoking a cigar.‘
If I was going to vape this as an all day every day vape, I would be adding a little vodka and ethyl maltol to it, sweetening it up slightly, drawing out the flavours, juicing it up and producing even more vapour. It would be more to my tastes that way – but see below.
Will it replace Puros as my cigar vape? No; it is good, but not as complex or multi-noted as Puros, but, see below. However if you want a simple to mix simple cigar taste, that pans out at good value, this is worth trying.
Steeping
Essential; the longer this steeps the more the cigar notes come out and the ‘ashtray’ effect diminishes. After 5 days it was just beginning to change colour and needed more. At least a week is recommended.

41p per ml is in the upper quartile of my flavour costs. But at about 4% final use, the value proposition is much better. On its own that would let you mix up over 150 ml of cigar vape from one 7ml bottle, which becomes reasonable. See below.
Use as a mixing ingredient
I have found what I want in this. This is never going to offer the complexity of flavours of ‘Puros’. But Puros is too sweet for my tastes and remains so when cut with or into Cigarrillos.. I have just mixed part of my bottle of made up vape of this with Puros. The effect is just what I wanted – a lovely mellow cigar vape – bags of flavour and diminished sweetness and a lovely after taste.
I am now expecting a lynch mob of HoL fans to come visiting, decked out in Klu Klux Klan type robes, and am hiding under my bed.
Effects on tanks and atomizers and any known ‘nasties’
