The other option is Tiger Wire 26Ga + 0.2*0.8 would this be more suitable for MTL?
Preferably single coil build

The Tiger Wire is definitely DL only - it wouldn't be a good choice for RDL either.

'Hive' Wire is generally 4 individual strands - I get the impression this is two lengths of twisted 30 gauge that are put together then twisted again in the opposite direction. This will be slightly thicker and lower resistance than a dual 28 wire - so I wouldn't consider it for MTL.. But I wouldn't use it for anything as I've found Hive wire to be a bit shit.

If you are looking for budget friendly complex wires I'd look at the Vandy Vape Superfine MTL range or maybe the Coilology MTL wires.

the stainless coilology clapton wire is okay. but regular plain wire is best imo for low power set ups.

I used to judge it by the resistance (ohms), nowadays I just get @Reggiec to make me some.
Resistance doesn’t really bother me I have been vaping for over 10 years. And anything below 1.00ohm is Sub Ohms. It all depends on the airflow

I have a setup in my SC Plus 3 at the moment, which is reading 0.24ohm dual coil. And if I want a DTL hit I open the airflow fully open and vape at 70w. If I want a more tighter hit like a MTL I shut my airflow down where I feel happy enough with, and turn my wattage down to about 40w.

That seems to work fine for me .

Can I suggest you try plain round bar awg28 or 9, first. I think you may be very surprised?
I’m unsure you even need Clapton for MTL, never mind trying high mass complex coils.
