What's new

Do we still need a new MTL RTA?

I only use MTL rtas and I sold most of my unused gears part from 3-4 which I use daily.

So yep @cthulhumod we need more MTL rtas ;)

I do not mind if it has top or bottom fill until its capacity is 3.5-5ml :hugs:

i've been vaping for far too long, long before the pods and disposable craze. For a while i sat with what i have (mtl rta's) and then spent time with pods, now going back full circle and dusting off my rta's due to ongoing costs and venturing into boro's. Being a tinkerer lol, i would love another mtl rta, simple to build, good flavour, not 100 parts and maybe 24mm or 4-5ml :)

@cthulhumod

The 24mm hastur and the valor have been my 2 go-to RTAs for years. Always in my rotation. Mostly they ARE my rotation (I just swap between those 2). Sometimes I add the pioneer in there also. The quality of vapour they produce is bloody excellent, they never leak, and they're easy to build and wick.

The mulan is possibly the best looking tank I've ever seen, but it didn't perform very well for me, always leaking and dribbling.

A v2 of the original hastur is well overdue. That is a fantastic build deck in so many respects. Loads of space, great for trimming the coil legs, multiple options for positioning the coil, the airflow is sooooo smooth and rich. It is nice and solid too, I prefer the weight of it to the valor.

Release that, with cleaner, simpler, updated look, and I will be forcing my money through your letterbox.

I believe everyone has collected many MTL RTAs on their shelves. In this era where DIY vaping is gradually declining, do we still need a new MTL RTA?
Well you tell us, you got the data.

From my point of view:
- Rebuildables have moved to enthusiast tier, pods seem to be fairly popular overall, replacing the older clearomizer niche and being a direct upgrade
- Have no idea about the bans and regulations since they do not affect my country, at least yet, but I'm sure it hurts very much :(
- Lots of different recent MTL devices on the market, it seems to be the most popular style of the OG rebuildable devices. Hell, I own about 15 atomizers and about half of those are MTL, and if I go to a vapeshop that still sells atomizers, about half of those would be MTLs, so they should be selling enough.
- Being a niche market does not mean not having a market at all. Hell, people still smoke cigars. This does seem to mean that I expect we are to be having less and less tanks/rdas, and the ones we will have will move to more of a premium segment.

Vapes are a weird one. How do you sell a new device to a non-collector person who is perfectly happy with their setup? it won't be drastically different. Vaping seem to have hit a plateau long ago, and the innovations and trends are mostly repeating the same. I for one love me some new toys, but I understand that enthusiasts are a minority.

BTW Valor is a superb atty, I bought one for curiosity sake, planning to gift it to my smoker friend who's eager to convert. We'll see how it goes.
