Personally looks play a big part in Mods and Pods for me at least, My way of thinking is that if a Company have gone to the trouble of making a Mod/Pod look good then surely the same must be said about the way it performs. Don't think i have bought anything Pod or Mod that has been bad and maybe i have been lucky apart from the Abyss which was a huge disappointment for me.

just like when i used to smoke. i wouldn’t be smoking any old ugly
fags. only those which were pleasing to the eye.
