fools mistake, made some juice the other day, specifically another batch of maple syrup and a batch of watermelon. i popped them in a drawer with the lids off to steep, i thought "dark, fairly warm, should be fine" but it wasnt, my maple syrup has now become watermelon-maple syrup. lesson learned, dont steep strong flavours in close proximity in a small closed space, ill vape apple-lychee for now and make some more maple in the morning, hopefully just in time for my aga arriving, not that im expecting to get it working first try! in truth ill probably end up failing enough times to use up the included wire at least but you never know

Some would say that the better way to steep is to leave the cap on so as not to loose flavour, and also not to gain any unsavoury elements in the immediate environment that could occur, best thing being to shake and open steeping bottles once a day. I try both ways myself, can't see much difference in the results, but one way is less prone to accidents.

they were my first open cap experiments, i thought leaving the cap off and shaking twice a day may work out as a good thing, and it may have i suppose had i not done it with more than one at a time. live and learn, at least i know watermelon and maple syrup isnt a great combo, although that may be down to the watermelon concentrate, which is more like unripe watermelons than a nice juicy one. next thing to attempt is the warm water bath method that i read about somewhere. you have to try these things yourself really or you just dont know

Oh no! I steep on shelves and am waiting dor the day one rains down on me!

Im off to ikea this weekend to get a cupboard door for my shelves .. specifically for steeping :)
