The Eleaf iSolo Air 2 Pod Mod Kit 1500mAh has an excellent rounded form with no sharp edges, measuring approx. 33 x 28 x 91mm in dimension, comfortably fits in your palm. Thanks to the aluminium body the mod is light, with the main weight coming from the batteries, weighing in at 108g, It’s a bit heavy for a shirt pocket, but is barely noticeable in your trouser, jeans or coat pocket. The leather padded wrap also appeared to be better quality and firmer, the original was quite soft and easier to scuff. It has a smoothly finished metal C-frame, complemented by the stitched leather. On the front of the device is the fire button, which is concave and pleasant to use. Then there is an OLED display for the battery level, wattage and coil resistance pretty much everything you need to know from your vape, bright and simple to read. Beneath the display is the independent +/- buttons for adjusting the wattage. This is followed by the USB-Type C port for charging. It has also received a bit of a construction makeover to swell it out more and it appeared to be beefed up with thicker metal so the kit just felt higher quality all-round.
Performance
Performance-wise, the Eleaf iSolo Air 2 Pod Mod Kit 1500mAh fires really quickly and with no discernible lag. The GTL 0.8ohm and GTL 1.2ohm Coils that come with the device have a mesh coil construction that we found provides constant flavor and vapor production, both suit MTL vaping but also give a pretty decent RDL performance, and as we said, the mesh coils help maximize the flavor of your juice. The vape has a power output of up to 40W which seems low when you compare it with other devices, but for a MTL device that’s pretty good. The adjustable airflow mechanism guarantees that you always get the optimum draw whether you like it tight or loose. Airflow is controlled with a lever that is located in the center top portion of the device between both airflow inlets and right above the beautiful Gray and Black colored leather spine. This is a fairly quiet airflow in any position even fully opened up. And the pods connect to the top of the device through a magnetic connection and hold in place relatively well.
User Experience
The Eleaf iSolo Air 2 Pod Mod Kit has been designed with simplicity in mind, we found that both expert vapers and new users can quickly get up to speed with the operational functions. The mod’s base has vent holes for battery safety. The buttons are very tactile and clicky, with little to no play on them. You can replace the coils and it is compatible with the GTL coil range. However there have been two new coils released for this kit.
