Essential additives?

Right I have most of my shopping list sorted, but I still need to make sure I'm not missing any essentials.

These are the additives I think I need:

Sweetener - I would like to use a Stevia based product rather than Saccharin or Aspartame, any advice on where to source this?

Menthol Crystals - Best off buying in Boots or is there a good online vendor?

Sours - I was just going to pick up some sours with my flavouring order.



Is there anything I am missing off the list that I will end up kicking myself about?

I personally prefer Sucralose over stevia .... (and its not aspartame or saccharin)

EM, not solely as a sweetener but because when a mix seems like a little something is missing or not quite right it often seems to make them complete.

Another I've read good thing about recently is Lorann tart and sour. It's on this month's shopping list to try.

I've also got an additive called smooth Smooth I've not sampled it yet but I will be on my next mixing session. I've read a lot of good reviews on it.

I buy the Menthol crystals from Asda pharmacy because they're half the price of boots but an ape mentioned it's cheaper on eBay.

I've got a lot of additives in my mixing box but I wouldn't recommend the majority.. The ones I've got above are worth having, although not essential.

I'm not sure where you'd be best getting the crystals from.. I buy it ready made from here Ethyl Maltol 10% PG

£1.80 for 10ml and £1 postage.

I get the majority of my mixing stuff from there because of all the brands they stock and knowing for a fact the concentrates are the strength they're supposed to be.

Yeah that was my first port of call, but he is out of stock on 2 out of the 3 inawera fruit flavours that are on my must have list. So I started looking elsewhere. If you think the pre-diluted stuff is ok I can definitely find that, it was the crystals I was struggling with.

Yeah that was my first port of call, but he is out of stock on 2 out of the 3 inawera fruit flavours that are on my must have list. So I started looking elsewhere. If you think the pre-diluted stuff is ok I can definitely find that, it was the crystals I was struggling with.

I've not bothered looking for crystals. The premade is apparently the max amount that'll dilute in pg (10%) and because of the amount used in a mix it seems to last a while for home use. I've had the same 10ml bottle on the go since I first started mixing and it's still half full

I think I'll look into getting crystals when I need to restock though.
