Basically both my Protank & Aerotank had lost their taste after trying out 8 or 9 different juices last week so ended up back on a cheap market clearomiser last night and hated it!

So got some cotton wool, quick look on YouTube to get the basics and had a go myself!

I haven't recoiled it or anything (no wire yet) so just carefully removed the old stuff (silca???) then re-inserted some cotton wool into both coils, clipped the ends off and 10 mins later......

Primed the cotton will with some juice, filled the tank up and left it for a few mins. Took a couple cold pulls (or whatever it's called?) then 3 or 4 short ones and then some decent ones. Wow! What a difference a small piece of cotton will does! Miles better vape and much better taste. That's me converted! Before was getting a vapour puff, this is more like a thick cloud, excellent!

Ive no idea if I've done right here just replacing with cotton wool on both coils but it's done the job. Hope I've done the right thing here and it's not gonna catch fire in my gob!

for those who don't know or unsure (like I was !) here's the Protank 3 head & Aerotank head side by side. Can confirm the Aerotank head fits the Protank 3 no problem.

BTW, can anyone tell me what the long stem is for on the Aerotank head? Just wondering?

Next week.....micro coils ;)

The only time you'll burn anything is if the wick gets dry, then you'll know about it so don't let it because it'll taste like shit.

I'll assume you dry burned the coil before rewicking. If not give it a dry burn need rewick. it'll clean some of the built up gunk off.
As for the long post, a lot of heads in different tanks have a longer post, than others. Not sure exactly why, might be down to the stability of the air pressure within the tank.

Well done looks great next time pull the cotton out of them and screw the coil back in the base screw it back on your battery and pulse it on and off to burn the crap off the coil let it cool down the re wick it

Nice one, my aerotank is starting to make my favourite juice taste a bit, well, tasteless, so you've inspired me to give this a go when i get home, thanks! :D

Thanks for post and pictures, looks straight forward to me ,might just give this a go , got access to plenty of cotton.

Thanks!

I tried it with the the missis protank mini 2 but it just leaked everywhere so stuck a fresh head in. Not sure why it's leaked? We've got a mini pt3 each coming from fasttech so I'll try again with that!

works a treat on the protank3 & aerotank though. I heated the coil as suggested and that's even better.

Definitely worth the 10 min effort :)

Well I did give it a go , I think I need a little more practice, first attempt, flooded :eeek: second attempt was a little rushed, it tasted like shit :banghead: third attempt, still tastes like shite , thought it could be the cotton ? might have another few goes over the weekend, I've plenty of coils .

Though with my current track record it could be the new Juice I trying that taste's , shit or a combination of both :grin2:

My first cotton wicks tasted awful, even after priming the wick and coil first. I put it down to the cotton wool even after boiling. Its recommended that organic cotton is best. So off to the supermarket, Baby section,(cheaper than the same product in other sections) no mention of organic but there is a good chance it wont have been bleached (baby skin etc)
So, with a bag of 'Tender Touch' large cotton wool balls from the local Morereasons, carefully unrolled it used a small piece in a protank head and vaping away like crazy. The flavour is so different, I can taste my favourite juice like never before.
I'm going to have to get out the juice I'd put away because I didn't like them and give them a second chance.
