Hi,

Looking to start ordering parts for a mech box mod (did look at the mod guides thread but the links were dead)

This is what I have in my list to order so far, just wondering if there was anything I am missing

Still undecided to go for either a Hammond 1590G Box or a Deltron ABS Box

510 Connector - FDV V4

510 Connector extension - FDV 22m

Switch - 16mm

Battery Enclosure - Keystone 1048

Amp regulator - 15amp resettable fuse
Are these necessary - seen few builds with them

Mosfet - IRLB3034PBF

Resistor - 15K Resistor

Will be wiring with 14-16 gauge wire and custom sleeving and heat shrink

Batteries - Sony VTC4

Just to add it will be a parallel build

Any help is much appreciated :)

PTC resetable fuses are huge and gain resistance each time they're tripped. The metal PTC fuses are small and don't gain resistance. They're very new technology. Here's a picture of a 30A one on a penny for scale

Did you get Black Slide Switch (10mm) so you can turn it off ? keep it safe in the pocket

And putting the Resettable Fuse in are there for added safty so if ever the mosfet fails and you get into an auto fire situation then the Resettable Fuse will trip

Well that looks tiny, which one would be recommended then for low ohm builds and how many should I use 2 or 3?

This one15a-Metal-PTC-Resettable-Fuse has
- Hold Current: 15A
- Trip Current: 30A

as this one PTC-Resettable-Fuse-AGRF1000 has
- Holding Current: 10A
- Tripping Current: 18.5A

Being a parallel box and if im not mistaken increasing the amps not voltage would the fuses first resettable fuse not have more protection?

Originally I was thinking about not putting one in as this will be more a in house mod but now thinking it just adds as a safety feature so I will put one in :)

I wire the PTCs in Parallel. That way it can take 30A no issues. Not used the other type of resettable fuses. As it is, they're an optional but a good to have.
