Hi all,

I'm a long time diy'er, first real forum post other than the hello how'd you do's.

I have quite a few of my own blends just wanted others opinions/general chit chat:

So I guess I'd best give a bit of base knowledge...

All my liquids made for my own consumption are mixed with a 75/25 base at 3mg/ml. I like this mix, plenty of cloud without being too intensive on coils or excessive use of flavourings.

So I guess I'd like to discuss my 2 main recipes:

Iced blue waffle, I came up with this on back in June very simple:

Usual base
8% waffle (jf247 own)
8% blue ice (fw)

Really simple but after a 2 week steep, tastes amazing!

Second blend is LEI - V2 - this is more recent, the V2 is only on its 3rd batch but little tweaks here and there are getting it to where it needs to be. At the moment it consists of:

Eucalyptus - 4% (not sure who's without checking but from jf247)
Lemon sherbet - 4.5% (again one of the limited ed. flavours from jf247)
Menthol blast - 4% (fw I think)
Marshmallow - 2.5% (Capella)
Waffle - 2% (jf247)

This sits for around 4-5 weeks before it's at full flavour. It's an easy pickup put down vape...the v1 of this was quite harsh and was eucalyptus 7% lemon sherbet 6% and menthol blast 5% I altered it as I felt the waffle and marshmallow gave a slightly less harsh more rounded flavour

I don't use additives - mainly because it's never been something I've looked into using. Should I be using them? What do you guys think? I do have more I've mostly previously posted about them on my IG. Hardware wise I use an RX 2/3 and either a crown 1 tank or my newer limitless rdta plus.

Thanks for reading my drivel and I welcome any criticism/advice :) [emoji23][emoji3][emoji12]

I can't imagine that any additives would bring any improvement to those mixes, unless they're a little harsh and some TFA Smooth might help.

I've stopped using them now - I no longer need my juices to be ridiculously sweet and I've stopped chasing any magic improvements they might bring.

Can't see much wrong with them and might mix them up, but need waffle first. At the end of the day as long as you enjoy what you make then it doesn't really matter what anyone else thinks as we all have different tastes. On the subject of additives they can be very helpful in a mix. I quite like a drop of citric acid, and I do mean a drop, 1 drop per 10ml, to my berry mixes. To me it really helps give the fruit a sharper taste. Saline is also a very popular additive for most mixes, especially bakery ones.

Thanks for the replies @bigbluenose and @Ment I'm working on some more blends at the moment. The newest one being a vimto/guava blend.

4% vimto
3% guava
2% marshmallow
1% eucalyptus

Just playing with this one at the moment as I received a free bottle of guava from makemyvape when I ordered some concentrates previously. Reason enough to make 30/40ml to play with :)

How did this turn out if you don't mind me asking it sounds like my thing

I am in the process of gathering information regarding what flavors can be used in small quantities to add that extra something to a mix without changing the flavor. In my opinion, using flavors to add depth and complexity to my juice has taken the overall experience of vaping to a whole different level. TFA dragonfruit can be used as an emulsifier. Cactus in small quantities will add juiciness to a mix. All of the creams add a different element to your mix depending on what your goal is. Marshmallow will make it seem light and airy. I have a long list of more but those are the ones off the top of my head.
