hi all, though i should share it and get some feed back (i meant abuse)
was sitting last night watching "first dates" and got bored to bits and thought i should do something more meaningful

on the left my attempt to recreate alien clapton (pulled 28 ni200 clapton wraped over x2 30 A1 kanthal)
on the right twisted ni200+kanthal

i made x3 twisted coils from one wrap and got one in deringer clone and one in V2 subtank mini both reading 0.1 :)) and one spare

as for the "alienated" clapton... damn thind is so big... i NEED BIG DRIPER to try it out. don't be shy to offer one...

open for thought...

2 days and not a single word of abuse? Please don't tell me they are perfect... Please?

i doubt these would even work in TC? am i wrong?
surely using kanthal as your base wire in a clapton is just going to fudge it all up?
just because you've wrapped the kanthal in nickel doesnt mean its going to work in TC mode, the power will automatically take its path thru the less resistant kanthal wire (you have two which is even worse!), the nickel wont even make any difference and is a waste...
same theory applies to the twisted wire although you appear to have used less kanthal in that one

Hi @gezmond , twisted coil seems to be OK... I'm currently have one i derringer RDA and another one i managed to fit in SUBTANK mini RBA :) - i have to say that I thought it's my envy 22 TC mode very temperamental as it's not what I was expecting... got some new tempered NI200 so will try on it's own and report back
As for BIG coil... i'll have to wait until i find RDA to fit it in... lol

I tend to agree that twisting ni200 with other wires, like kanthal can lead to problems with TC accuracy.
But with regards to kanthal being lower in resistance than ni200, I do believe that you have your wires crossed!! (Pardon the pun)

Sorry, couldn't resist.
