First off if this is deemed the wrong section I do apologise and admin feel free to correct it, but this seems the most appropriate place to me!
I've got a zmax v3, and it suffers from a common fault, when the battery is fitted and the end cap screwed on, the whole control board and button assembly gets pushed up slightly, so the fire switch only contacts 1/2 of the button below it. I read online that you can take the top cap off using a bit of wood and hammer to break the glue etc holding it on, then use a piece of another control board or similar and epoxy to make a shelf to prevent it moving.
I have considered doing this, but am worried that with my clumsiness I might ruin some wireing and render my mod useless - this would be very bad as I can't afford to replace it. Then I began to wonder if there might be a way to create a similar shelf through the LCD display window(it is loose and currently held on via sticky tape, plan to super glue it back in place in the near future)
So to all you lovely mod makers and tinkerers I ask you this - is my idea feasible? What would I need to do to accomplish this? It is possible to move the board back down to proper position again when the battery is removed using a small screw driver and pushing down on the metal block the button sits on, could it be as simple as maybe sticking some epoxy/super glue along the edge of the board to fix the board to the inside of the mod, or would that risk damaging the board/causing short circuits? Or is there something I could fit through the display window to create a shelf and glue that into place?
Any advice is greatly appreciated!
