Hey guys,

I'm about to start mixing and have all my bases. now I just need to buy my flavourings and get going.

I have a list of ten complimentary flavours I want to make my first litre up with and have done about as much research on brands through the reviews on here and ukecig as poss, but I thought I'd pose the question incase I'm way off or could make better decisions.

I'm interested in the Inawera range as I understand the potency makes them good value, but I don't want to sacrifice on quality of flavour, so would appreciate your thoughts on the best brand for these flavours in your experience.

Flavours;

Banana - want a good mixing nana, hoping for a bit more fresh than foam (Inawera-aromat somewhere in middle?)

Grape - want something that stands alone but is also good for creaming - have heard concord grape is good.

Blueberry - for creaming, not candy style.

Strawberry - realistic but sweet, for creaming and pudding fruit. ( inawera 'wild' e-aromat or 'truskawka' a decent choice?)

Waffle - to use as base for fruit + waffle + cream + maple/caramel (capella boss?)

Sponge cake - for Victoria sponge and similar - have heard one is awesome but will have to find reviews again (edit - Inawera has good write up)

Vanilla custard - to use with fruits. think capella is boss? Ideally want not to haven't on add to many other things to make proper custard.

Cream - to use in puds and with fruits. Think bavarian cream is boss? Again, don't want to have to add more than some Maltol to paid this out (TFA Bavarian boss?)

Maple syrup/caramel - want this primarily to go with waffle + fruit, but also coconut. Want One that is somewhere in the middle of caramel and maple if that is a sensible demand..?

Coconut - for mixing - to my knowledge in Inawera's is good, but pipped by others as a stand alone - will be used mostly as background, will Inawera do?

I know I've asked a lot, but mi haven faith in your knowledge ;)

Thanks in advance.

I'm at about the same stage as you, but my research suggests you might want to use several different brands, some suppliers do one type of flavour better than others seems to be the perceived wisdom.

Yup

I think you are right. I put my order in last night and got 12 flavour concentrates, some bitter taste and Maltil sweetener for £26 delivered from inawera's site with 15% off first order.

I'll do a full review in a couple of weeks once I have something to sample but if the target levels of usage are what they say they are, that lot should flavour a good litre of base.

The only problem I had was that they don't do a custard, cream, waffle or pie base concentrate, so I choose a couple of alternatives instead. The vanilla Classic is supposed to be creamy and I got a chocolate cream, so should be able to cream some fruits, but custard is out of reach until I put in an order of CAP, FW or TPA.

I wanted to minimise postage and keep cost minimal at this point as it will be my first mix, so got all from Inawera.

I'll let you know how I get on.
