Roll up... Roll up

Hello my fellow vapers today we have a kit from Freemax, The Marvos X 100 Kit This was very kindly sent to me from Freemax.

As always this review is my own thoughts and not associated with anyone from Freemax or POTV. Nor have I been paid for my thoughts.

Abit about the kit....

Up today is the newest pod mod in the maxus range from freemax. It follows on from recent products they've been making which includes the light theme and has there newest MS-D Mesh Coils included, here's to hoping that they produce the usual fantastic flavour you get from a freemax coil. Also included with this kit is the new CRC Pod.

The kit is available in 6 different colour options of which all have a mythical type theme on the back. I received the green themed Variant.

Mod....

This latest edition to the marvos range is a compact single 18650 device. It has a large and bright 0.96" Oled screen on the front which like the maxus solo which I previously reviewed allows you to see all the inner workings of the mod.

The battery is held in place by magnets removing the panel is simple just pull it open to reveal the battery housing. Like the front this shows the led strips used in the device.

The back panel features 3 different variations of mythical type prints which gives the mod abit of a difference to others. The magnets are strong and there's been no problems with the back panel at all.

The front of the device your find the large screen, fire button, up and down buttons and a smart feature from freemax a lock switch which Is placed neatly at the bottom below the USB C charging port.

It's the usual 5 clicks on and off. Pressing the +&- buttons together locks the wattage, pressing these individually turns the wattage up or down in 0.5w increments.

3 clicks of the fire button opens the options menu which gives you 3 different choices, mode, set and exit. Inside mod and set is a separate menu on these you will find:

Mode – choose from:

• Power

• Smart

• VPC – Variable Power Curve

• Bypass

Set – choose from:

• Theme Colour – Choose the screen colour from Light Blue, Dark Blue, Purple, Green, Orange or Random.

• LED Control

• Puff

• Reset

If you enter the LED control menu you have various different options to do with the light show from colours, to different themes of how the lights perform. For example Flashing, waterfall or tetris or you can simply turn them off all together.

There is a led strip around the battery door and the front of the device which all work together to whatever colour theme or pattern you've chosen and although not to everyone's taste it can actually look pretty cool paired with the fact its a fantastic single 18650 mod makes this a winner for me.

My biggest shame for this mod is the exclusion of a 510 adaptor, spoiler yes the pod is decent but for me to be able to use either a mtl tank or a different stock coil tank on this kit would really complete it for me.

The mod has 8 safety features – Reverse battery, overheating, low voltage, short circuit, overtime, overload, overcharge and over discharge protections.

Pod....

The new pod included in this kit is the freemax marvos CRC Pod which stands for Child resistant Cap. It's ISO child resistant.

Freemax have achieved this by making it a lift and push cap by that you find freemax imprinted on the top cap simply pull it up and push it to reveal a filling port.

The tank 2ml tpd and made from stainless steel and plastic it comes with a smoked removable 810 drip tip.

The has strong magnets which helps hold it in place on top of the mod and below is the spinning airflow adjustment ring. I've found it to be a perfect RDL vape or a great DL vape depending on what coil you have installed.

I have however found the tank to be sometimes loose and moves out of place which although doesn't affect the kits performance can become abit of a pain.

Coils....

Now this new kit and pod is compatible with the whole of freemaxs MS coil range meaning there's plenty of coils to choose between.

marvos-x-coil-options-1.jpg

The 2 coils included in the kit are:

• 0.15ohm MS-D mesh coil 60 to 80W

• 0.25ohm MD-D mesh coil 30 to 50W

I was happy to see freemax include a coil which ran at a lower wattage range as previous kits have included 2 high powered coils.

I Started with the 0.25ohm Coil straight away it produced great flavour and with the airflow 1/4 to 1/2 closed it gave a fantastic RDL vape. I found my sweet spot to be around 38-42W I pushed the coil to 50W and a little above but wouldn't really say this improved the vape quality in any way and vaping between my sweet spot I got around 9 days out of the coil which I was happy with.

I moved onto the 0.15ohm coil rated 60-80 starting lower and moving up the flavour really started to come through around 50W it was a dense flavourful vape and I finally found my perfect range between 65-70W closing the airflow down slightly gave a warmer vape but the flavour was brilliant I was really impressed with this coil.

I did however find the tank get quite hot quickly I think possibly if it was a bigger tank non tpd this wouldn't be an issue but with the high wattages and 2ml tank it caused it to heat up quicker.

Pros and Niggles...

Pros...

• Great flavour
• Great coil life
• Comfortable and well built
• Customisable lights and themes
• Easy to fill and change coils

Niggles...

• Could have been a 21700
• Pod sometimes feels loose
• 2ml is a pain causing heat
• 510 adaptor made

Overall thoughts...

Overall I think this is another great kit from freemax, as always the coils give great flavour reaching a solid 8/10 days out of them. The customisation on the lights and themes is a great idea and a way of making a kit more fun. Also the fact I didn't notice the light show affecting the battery life was a bonus.

However as always there's a few Niggles, a 21700 option would have been more beneficial for the wattages used on this kit your have to carry around spare batteries.

I've also found the pod to sometimes feel abit loose and doesn't always sit securely although this doesn't take away the quality from this kit or the flavour it can be a nuisance. And last of all the 2ml TPD rule something which is nothing to do with freemax but my word it's a pain you're forever filling this cracker. My main niggle as always with the last few quality freemax kits is the exclusion of a 510 adaptor which would make there last few pod kits the best around.

Scores on the doors....

Flavour- 9/10
Vapour production- 8.5/10
Build quality- 8.5/10
Ease of use- 8/10

Thank you as always for taking time to read my review. A massive thanks once again to @Freemaxtech for sending me this kit.
