Roll up.. roll.up...
Hello my fellow vapers in for review today we have the Onnix the new pod system from freemax This was very kindly sent to me from freemax themselves so thank you to Tina for sorting it.
As always this review is my own thoughts and not associated with anyone from freemax or POTV. Nor have I been paid for my thoughts.
Abit about the kit..
The new kit is part of a promotion from freemax with the slogan "We Vape, We Save"
The name Onnix comes from the saying "Our Only Planet Matters"
The Campaign is being set to raise awareness for environmental needs to make the planet a safer and healthier place. This includes a set up with retails shops to help recycle coils and swap old pods and coils for a new pack. They've made 2 new coils with the kit which are claimed to have a much longer lifespan meaning you won't be changing them as often.
I think this is a great campaign for the future of vaping and has shown people who don't agree with or feel it should be banned that companies are doing all they can to make it as environmentally friendly as possible, so well done Freemax

The mod...
I recieved the black version for the purpose of this review but the kit comes in 6 standard colours, there is also a special limited edition 7th colour which is green in conjunction with the planet campaign.
This device houses a 1100Mah battery which with the coils for this kit and there wattage range is more than enough.
It's made from a steel aluminium alloy and feels nice in the hand with it being not to light but by no means heavy.
The first thing your notice with this device is the fact they've gone down a route many others had way before freemax produced this device, that is unfortunately for some massive branding down the back of the device with ONNIX printed down the back side of the device. Obviously this doesn't make a difference to the vape on the device but a niggle that may put some people off.
A great addition to this pod system is the adjustable airflow on the side. Freemax suggest fully open for a RDL vape and Closed for MTL and I wouldn't argue to much with them, although for some people the mtl could be to loose but more on that later. The airflow slider has a nice restriction to it which means it doesn't move when in your pocket or slide closed when holding it.
Its supported by Type C and is fully charged in around 60 minutes at a 1.5A rate. I suppose you could say 60 minutes is fast but for me it could be quicker.
When vaping the Onnix, the LED will light up when you draw to indicate your remaining battery life. It will also light up when charging. The colors are:
• Green: 71-100%
• Blue: 36-70%
• Red: 0-35%
The Onnix has 3 power levels and the wattage output of each level will depend on the coil that you’re using:
• 0.5Ω Coil: 20W (Green), 18W (Blue), 16W (Red)
• 1.0Ω Coil: 13W (Green), 11W (Blue), 9W (Red)
To change the wattage level you just press the fire button 3 times and you’ll see the LED at the bottom of the Onnix light up. If I'm being totally honest I haven't really been able to tell the difference when changing wattage levels.
This device can be used by autodraw or by pressing and holding the fire button to vape. If you want to turn off the button activated firing then you can do so by pressing the fire button 4 times. To turn it back on, press the fire button 4 times again. I have found this to be abit hit and miss sometimes with it not always turning of but changing the wattage instead so I've just left it to button firing.
Pods and Coils....
The pod has a small duck Bill mouthpiece which is actually very comfortable and easy to vape on. They're tinted pods but it's easy to see your juice levels through the top.
It uses a silicone bung side fill on the pod which as always if you've got no nails can be a pain to open, once opened its a fair sized filling hole but I have found it can cause an air bubble with the juice clogging up. Its a case of filling up slowly and on a sight angle to let the air escape. I always prefer to the see the mouthpiece top fill on devices like these. Simular the the xros etc as i feel it's easier and means u don't have to remove the pod each time to refill.
The pod attaches magnetically to the battery and the magnets are very strong. It sits firmly in the battery and does not wiggle or move side to side when inserted.
You get two coils with the Onnix:
• 1 x 0.5Ω MTL Coil (COILTECH 3.0)
• 1 x 1.0Ω RDL Coil (COILTECH 4.0)
Preinstalled when you get the device is The 0.5Ω coil is a SS904L mesh coil with FreeMax’s tea fibber cotton wick. This coil will fire at 16, 18, or 20W depending on the power level you set. It’s meant for restricted direct lung (RDL) vaping and for regular eliquids from 0-6mg.
I filled the pod up leaving the coil to soak for 10 minutes I Started on the lowest wattage setting with the airflow fully open instantly with nearly all freemax products the flavour was outstanding. I upped the wattage levels and found for a good RDL vape was the green setting 20W with the airflow a little bit closed the Vapour production and flavour I got was brilliant and where I left it after 10 days the flavour is still very strong and doesn't have any signs of burning out.
After a while I installed the 1ohm coil to see how this device handled MTL vaping after clearly being very good at RDL. Again I Started at the lowest wattage level and worked my way up to green which is 13W again I couldn't tell to much difference between the 3. I had the airflow fully closed and depending how you like your mtl draw this isn't a tight cheek squeezer. Still as a loosish mtl vape it's very decent with good flavour. Unfortunately for me I found after about a week my coil lost flavour considerably which was a shame but still a half decent amount of time.
Pros and Niggles...

Overall thoughts...
Overall I would fully promote this a RDL pod device with outstanding flavour and coil life on the 0.5ohm coil. With freemax having the fireluke tank and coils for MTL which for me is the best. This device is fantastic as a RDL device Overall.
The battery life with the 0.5ohm coil running at 20W I was easily getting all day with moderate use. The feel and weight of the device is great in the hand and is very easily put in your pocket to carry around.
The Campaign to help save the planet and for vaping to be put on the map as environmentally safe i think is great and something that could help the industry go even further in the future so a massive well done to freemax on that.
As always with freemax products they produce solid, well built flavour banging devices and this doesn't dissapoint. I would fully recommend this device to any level of Vaper for an easy carry pod kit or for a starter looking for an easy to use device this would suit anyone perfectly.
Thank you once again to freemax for sending me this product for review and for you all for reading.
