Gbox Bottle Conversion

Hey squankers. :p
I had a quick scout around the forums and I didn't find a thread about this.
I wonder if anyone here has converted their Gbox to take bigger and/or better bottles. I've seen a few people post about it over the interweb.
I've been looking into it myself and apparently what you do is remove the cover with a Torx T06 screwdriver, unscrew the housing that holds the metal feed tube and rubber stopper, then replace that unit with a Lost Vape Therion DNA75C bottle, a YFTK silicone bottle or some other options.
The problem then is that you rescrew the cover back on and can't get into the bottom to refill unless you unscrew it all again, so you have to use a refill bottle. The solution for that is to replace the torx screws that hold the cover on with neodymium magnets in the cover and posts. You have to carefully drill the holes to fit the magnets before gluing them in.
Looks pretty good when it's done.

So has anyone here done it and can provide input and tips, pics?

Here is MikeVapes showing a couple of questionable ways to modify it: (I don't recommend cutting the metal pipe though)

I've not done anything like this before but I think this is a shopping list for the job.
I have updated it after advice and research. :p

To be honest I haven't decided yet if this is more hassle than it's worth lol..

Just ordered some Drone bottles and magnets from Fasttech so I guess I will update in a couple of weeks.
Even though it seems no-one is interested :p

Hi RaymondoBeyondo not brave enough to try this and personally im not sure i see the point but i will follow your efforts with interest hope it works out for you cheers

@Martvb60 there is not really a huge need to do this because I love the Gbox as it is. However the problems with it are the metal feed tube, the hard little bottle, the need to remove the batteries when refilling and having no access to the inside gubbins without unscrewing.
It looks quite easy to fix these issues with about a tenner and a bit of initiative, and afterwards I will have a much improved device.
Unless I fuck it up, then I will have a £50 paperweight as testament to my emasculation. :p

Wouldn't it be easier to fit a Goldilock bottle same way as fitting it to the Squeeze or Dropbox.

That would be an option if the goldilocks bottle fits. It would still leave the other issues though.

You could also employ the modification i made to my dripbox 160 instead, no need for cutting tools.
all i did was to remove the brass bung at the bottom, then remove the silcone portion used to seal the bottle.
form there i used a MM silicone bottle, used the supplied silcone tube as a sleve over the metal feed tube.
from there the bottle just slide's up the tube and seals fine.

@Alastair Paterson yes i will not be using a dremel like mikevapes in that video, i dont think that is necessary at all.
The unit that holds the metal feed tube just unscrews with two Philips so it's easy to remove.
I'm going to pop a 11ml Drone bottle in instead which is a bit taller, and just use a normal squonk tube.
I will definitely replace the torx screws that hold the cover on with magnets though, and when i do that it will be fairly easy to switch for whatever bottles i want.

The Goldilocks will be a better fit than the Drone bottle you linked to. That's 11ml & rubbish, swapped mine for the newer Theiron BF bottle as softer. Not knocking your efforts & a pat on the back for taking one for the team :)2. Good luck.

Edit. Just seen you say which way you were doing it & other than not being able to get the bottle out, apparently if you tighten the screws holding the back it affects the battery compartment somehow. https://www.fasttech.com/forums/6969900/t/2623479/geekvape-gbox-squonker-200w. That's using the newer Lost Vape bottle.
