Kavis @Sourcemore sent me this to try out. I am not affiliated with POTV or Sourcemore, nor do I get paid to review things.
GeekVape E100i (Aegis Eteno i) Kit
https://www.sourcemore.com/geekvape-e100i-pod-mod-kit.html
I got a code to bring it down to $38.19 and that is GEIK.
Kavis also, very kindly, sent me the optional 510 adaptor that is available for this kit. It turns the pod into a tank on other devices, rather than turn the mod into a 510 type mod.
The E100i is a pod kit that goes up to 100w and has a 3000mah internal battery. It’s got the usual Aegis IP68 rating so is water, dust and shock proof as always. It comes with some P series coils for the pod and both are for DTL vaping. Charging is by USB Type-C and there is a 1.06 colour TFT screen on the mod. The pod on this version is 4.5ml but I assume that will drop to the usual 2 ml for the TPD version.
In the box you get:
1 GeekVape E100i Mod
1 GeekVape E100 Pod (4.5ml)
2 GeekVape P Series Coil (Pre-installed: 0.2Ω, 60-70W; Spare Coil: 0.4Ω, 50-60W)
1 Spare Parts Pack
1 USB Cable (Type-C)
1 Coil Tool
Style wise it looks like most of the other Aegis range devices, with the same distinctive look to it. You have the rubberised frame, along with the soft leather type bit at the back for comfort. GeekVape have added the lock button that is now on a lot of their Aegis mods and that locks both the adjustment buttons and the fire button so it’s good for not firing in your pocket (this is a problem I do have a lot with other mods for some reason, must be my tight trousers). The pod attaches to the mod via some pretty strong magnets and they’re strong enough to survive a drop to the floor, which is good. I still take the pod off taking it out of my pocket sometimes but that’s pretty standard for pods anyway. The whole kit is quite light, given the size of it. I’d say it’s about the size of a smallish single 21700 mod for comparison. The pod is quite large as well, I think it’s around 26, maybe 27mm so when using the 510 adaptor you would need quite a big mod for it to look good and fit well.
Function wise it has the full chip in it, with TC capabilities. Three clicks will let you adjust modes and they are; smart mode (locks the wattage to the wattage range of the coil, as well as suggesting the best wattage), power mode, boosting mode (which seems to just be a new name for bypass), TC Ni, TC, SS, TC Ti, TC TCR and VPC. Holding both the adjustment buttons together will change the colour of the screen while holding the fire button and either of the adjustment buttons will let you change the screen brightness up or down.
One thing I notice is that the P series coils are made of Kanthal, which suggests that there should be another 510 adaptor released at some point to let you take advantage of the TC capabilities, otherwise what would be the point of having them on the mod?
In use I started with the pre-installed 0.2 ohm coil. It’s rated between 60 and 70w and gives great vapour and good flavour from it. I’ve used these P series coils before and do really rate them for a good vape at full DTL. The pod has a top airflow ring, which moves smoothly and lets you dial it down for a nice restricted lung hit. I personally had it about half closed off to give me the kind of draw I like myself but it’s also nice fully open for that proper lungful. It’s not an overly whooshy tank either, which suits me too. I’ve also not noticed any leaks from the pod and I do leave it alone most of the day, using it mainly in the evening when my kids are in bed.
The 0.4ohm coil is a bit more sedate at 50-60w and I did like it better as that’s more my kind of wattage. I had it down to 45w and that still gave good flavour and a nice draw. I feel the 0.4 coil will last a bit longer and does give me that little bit better flavour, perhaps it’s just my own preference though.
If you want a good DTL pod kit with an internal battery then the E100i is a great kit for that. The P series coils are damn good and I really like them myself. With the usual Aegis IP rating it’s also going to be pretty durable if you’re out a lot. I like the lock switch and the screen on the mod is one of the better ones I’ve had, everything is easy to see and the font is quite large.
I do question the 510 adaptor, as I would have preferred one that turns the mod into a proper mod but I also get that it would be hard for them to make one that’s magnetic to fit the mod, ones I’ve had before usually click on. It kind of makes the TC capabilities a bit redundant; unless there are TC coils in the works or already available. I’m worried that I’m missing something here. Nevertheless, the 510 adaptor that is available is great for using the pod and coils on other devices. I’ve had it on my dual 21700 mod and it looks and works great.
