Hi guys, bought my first beginners mod about a week and a half ago (had vapour s22) but it didn't take me long to realise how limiting these kids are, in particular it primarily being a mouth to lung mod with the option of fitting a sub coil. I fitted a 0.5 coil which isn't he lowest this mod can take, however as explained in some reviews of this mod once the battery reaches half point with a sub performance massively drops, thing is it reaches half point incredibly fast with a 0.5. and so I've quickly moved on to a more "pro" mod. The I-priv buy smok, and omfg what a bit of kit! It's primarily known formats voice activation but it's ropey at best especially with my thick Geordie accent, but,...,...,this thing performs to insane levels! My question is, what is a generally good temp/watt setting for good flavor/cloud production? Being a new vaper never mind with a mod this powerful I have no clue, max I put it was 80 watts but i haven't even got into temp settings yet. Good flavor and massive clouds at this level but wondered if there is a general sweet spot people use. The guy I watched review this mod on YouTube said it's one of the few mods that actually might not the 230watt that it advertises to hit

Sorry for the amount of typos, predictive, I'm sure you guys get my point though lol

The Wattage you want depends on the coil, the tank, the e-juice you are using and what you are wanting from it. Some stock coils for tanks will give you a recommended wattage range for them, but ultimately it is down to what you want. For example on a rebuildable, I can run a 0.5 ohm simple wire coil in a mtl tank happily at 15 Watts and get the vape I want off it. I can also run a complex coil with the same resistance but much more mass on a series mod at about 130 watts and get a nice, but different vape.

To prevent burning your coil out, and your throat start relatively low and work up until you find the vape you want.

Ty for quick reply, I think it's a strip coil

Ty for fast responce, I think it's a strip coil (0.1 own) with an 8ml tank, amazing performance but it burns juice like crazy, since I've not adjusted/know anything about temp control it may be this that's burning the juice, after like 5-6:good hits the tank is half gone lol

Did you buy a new tank rda/rta with your new mod also or are you using the jac tank still? If it’s the latter then I’d recommend looking at some of the posts people have made regarding the Freemax mesh and the Wotofo profile or recurve . Sounds like you’d like them. (I know nothing about clouds so don’t ask)

If you’re using the jac tank then the coils will give you the recommended wattage on them or look on the jac website for guidance.

I don't have the tank, but it sounds like it isn't burning the juice, it is just how those sorts of tanks work. with mtl you will probably vape all day and get through 3ml of juice. DTL, low ohm complex coil vaping and cloud chucking... you will get through liquid much much quicker, as you are finding out.

Glad you are enjoying your new vape, I made the same leap that you did, a crap low powered MTL onto a Smok T-Priv 2 and it's a whole new world.

The max wattage of the mod is something I doubt you will ever need, main thing is go by the power range stated on the coil and take it slightly below the max setting, for example if itsays 60 - 80 watts then stick it to 70-75 watts and see how that goes, higher might taste okay but you will burn out your coil faster.

Temp Control, unless your coil states it does Temp Control don't use it, TC is for particular coils or wires that can take it so just ignore it for now until you are sure, I've yet to use a stock coil that uses Temp Control.

Juice consumption is relative to your setup and coil, rough guide is higher the wattage the more juice / clouds, but there's other factors such as higher VG in juice gives more clouds but less flavour.

I'm guessing it has the Prince Tank on it? try these coils:

V12 Prince Max Mesh Coil Design **MAKE SURE IT'S THE 'MAX MESH'** the other mesh coils are atrocious.
0.17ohm
Rated for 80-130W
Recommended 90-110W

I vape mine at 95-100 watts and it's pretty damn good.

That said, get yourself a Freemax Mesh Pro tank and you will feel like you've taken another big leap into flavour heaven (and clouds if you like that sort of thing).

We are always here if you need more advice.

With TC you need a coil that supports it such as stainless steel, ni200 or titanium. Setting wattage and temp has to be played aroung with until you find the sweet spot. I use stainless steel 316L and usually have it set anywhere between 240c and 260c with a 60-65 wattage build up and an initial 70w preheat
