Hi all,
Can I please ask for help with this. I recently bought the Halycon DNA squonk mod (second hand) and although i am not having any issues with battery life at the moment, I am not sure how much life (charge's) the battery has left in it. So I was wondering if anyone knows where I can buy a new replacement lipo battery for the unit? And also at the moment the battery thats in the mod is 900mah, is it possible to get a larger capacity (same size) for this mod?

Sorry if i have confused you guy's reading this but I tend to ramble when I panic...not that there is a need to panic...so i should'nt be rambling really but....ohhh ignore me! But please help

Thanks in advance

With lipos it's all down to the actual size of the cell, so you'd need to measure the dimensions of the cell and how much room is in your unit, and go to somewhere like Hobbycraft for a replacement. Don't pack a cell in too tight though- a Lipo needs room to expand under use.
Connector wise most Lipo cells come with an XT60 connection, and if your unit uses an XT30 you'll have to re solder an XT30 onto the new cell.
You also with DNA200's need to make sure it is a 3s (Triple cell) Lipo as the board requires a 3s to function fully. You also want a constant discharge rating as high as possible- 30c is about average.
So essentially it's all down to the size of the battery. The more capacity the cell the bigger it is with Lipo's.
Good brands to look out for are Turnigy, Zippy and Fullymax for the DNA200.

A point to note though is that an 18650 is around 300-350 charge cycles before it starts to deteriorate to any great extent. A well looked after Lipo is up to 1000 cycles- so unless it's had some heavy useage there's a good chance yours has plenty life left- so long as it's been treated right.

Thanks mate but seriously i'm not going to even lie to you. I am so lost & dont have a clue where to even begin. Other then buying, charging & exchanging over the 18650's I am newbie when it comes to all that stuff. I have attached a picture to see if it makes easier to understand...like hopefully "where can i buy this battery from?" Lol

Pretty sure that's a Fullymax. You've not got much space so I'd go for a 1:1 replacement. Hobbycraft would be your best bet, but unless it needs it don't change it yet. One way to tell whether a Lipo is on its way out is swelling- it'll puff up like a bag of air. Some is normal when it's in use/being charged, and also as they get older, but unless it's doing this don't bother just yet.
That is of course as long as it's charging and performing ok? Cells fail inside cheap lipos- but the one you've got is decent.

Thank you guys...
SirLugg your knowledge into this stuff makes me jealous! Honetsly buddy, hats off to you sir! On a seperate note, there is no swelling on the lipo. It's just that No1. I dont know how long the previous owner has had it for & No2. After a full charge the battery is giving me just about a day. I vape around 60-65w on a 0.39 dual coil build. I'm not a chain vaper so I was not sure if the battery was on its way out.

eyeball kid thank you for the link buddy. They are out of stock at the moment but i will bookmark the page & keep an eye on it.

Thanks again guys, really appreciate it

You give me too much credit sir, but thank you. I have 3 DNA200 mods all with Lipo's so along with chatting to folk on here I just did a bit of research. I've replaced one myself on a second hand mod I bought and it's easy.

The link that @eyeball kid gave you will be a genuine 1:1 replacement so it'll be a case of simply unplug the old and plug on the new. You'll have to pop on escribe to make sure your battery settings haven't reset too. That'll be by far the easiest way for you to do it.

On my 900mah Lavabox I'll get about 4-5 hours of constant use so your days use at 60-65w sounds about right as I'm around double that. That's the downside to the Lipo mods unfortunately, but it's far outweighed by the fact that when looked after they're a longer lasting, better performing alternative to 18650's. I have a 1500mah mod which will take me most of a day if I were to use just that.

My advice is pop onto escribe and go to the screen tab. Change the display when charging to show your individual cell voltage while charging. That way you can make sure the board is balance charging properly and that they all reach 4.2v at full charge.

SirLugg thank you again. I will keep an eye out to see when Vape Geek get it back in stock. I have clicked on the follow button on your profile...so you now have a stalker. Seriously buddy thank you for the help & i now know who to pester when dealing with batteries.

Lol. You're welcome. There's lots of helpful folk round here but I don't mind doing my bit as long as they're not a cockwomble [emoji16].
Which you're not. Which is refreshing [emoji6]

@SirLugg has an admirer! Will wonders never cease?!! [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

I'm only kidding, top guy, honest and as long as you don't rub him up the wrong way, as helpful as can be. [emoji12][emoji106]
