I know Purplefowler tried and Bryan has... any definites yet though?

I am into my 4th major steep of tobacco leaves - with no problems. I use the bags from www.leisureliquids.com and an upright Sistema 1 litre pot with straining basket. Optimum time is temperature dependent, leaf type dependent and moisture content (of the leaf) sensitive. The drier the leaf before it goes into the bags, the better. Time-wise somewhere between 10 and 21 days.

I did lots of smaller trial steeps when I started and tried several techniques - think I now have it fairly well sussed. Have also done vanilla pods and coffee.

I have steeped in both PG and VG.

Bleurgh, and it stinks so I'm not even allowed to vape it even if I wanted to!

how did the vanilla pods come out Brian interested in doing them myself cheers Andy

The flavour was wonderful Andy - delicate and more complex and authentic than most commercial vapes. I just didn't do enough of it.

Split the pods - scrape out the seeds and steep them and the pods in PG or VG in a warm dark place for 2 months - swooshing every few days. Make sure you wash the beans first if they've been stored in any sort of syrup - if it's water that can go into the mix. A tiny amount of vodka helps get things going - I had mine sitting with just this on it for 2 days before I put it in the steeping pot with PG.

There's a good methodology here:
