From the Nottingham Post, 7th March

an article describing how an 'electronic cigarette' MAY have - N.B. not did, cause a fire at student accommodation in the city... Did the fire brigade or the police say this? No.... twelve paragraphs down we finally find out that, I quote "Another resident, who did not want to be named, said the fire was caused by an E-cigarette on charge."

This sort of rubbish journalism really does make me angry - grrrrrrrr :banghead:

Well the Notts post has ALWAYS been shite ... its no surprise to see this kind of drivel in there.

TBH ... STUDENT accommodation .. was probably caused by too much alcohol and then leaving a pilfered traffic cone on an open cooker ring.

Local paper in sales + advertising generation shock.

I find life so much simpler by avoiding all forms of news these days. It doesn't inform, it's all about boosting readership or viewing figures.

The day it makes Newsnight is the time I'll treat it as anything other than utter gash.

I wish we could get them to do a story on ecigs though...maybe people should start pestering them!
 
it really does take a special kind of gutter rat to be a journalist it seems, since when does what somebody told them become fact
