Hi everyone!

I am both new to the forum and to vaping itself, having made the plunge ofter several friends reccomended vaping as a much healthier alternative to smoking, after 14 years and ending up on on 20 or more a day (usually more).

So far, since purchasing my kit and experimented with some liquids, I have found a nice blend of cappuccino and caramel at 15mg nicotine which saw me drop from the aforementioned 20+ to ten, then three, then one cigarette over a matter of 3 days and has finally seen me analog -I think thats the right term?- free for two days and seventeen hours (not that I'm counting) and despite the resultant and rather unpleasant non-nicotine withdrawal symptoms starting to really kick in, I could not be happier!

Anyway, enough of my waffling, I forsee myself vaping for some time and look forward to speaking with you all and learning more about this quite remarkable replacement to tar, carbon monoxide and all the other darstardly chemical lurking in tobacco!

Cheers,

Y0

Hi @yankee0 welcome to the forum
I was smoking 35 years myself @30 plus per day.
Dont beat yourself up if you have the odd few cigarettes (it's the ones that your not smoking that matters)
It will take a little time for your body/brain to realise it's the nicotine you crave and not the cigarette
If you feel you are suffering from nicotine withdrawl then perhaps upping your nic strength from 15mg to 18mg may be worth considering, you can always reduce that level again at a later stage.
Goodluck

Congratulations on your success so far. It sounds like you're doing well, so best of luck. There's a wealth of knowledgeable and friendly members here more than happy to answer any questions you might have so don't be shy. Welcome to the forum. :)

Thanks all for the warm welcome!

Fyslexic ducker, many thanks for the advice, and its incredible that you quit after so long!

To be honest, it's not so much the nicotine withdrawal that I'm disliking, I think its more the other chemicals starting to leave my body, swollen glands, sore throat and gums etc, all the stuff that I was told to expect when switching to vaping but kind of hoped would pass me by....

That said, the benefits really do outweight the (hopefully short lived) problems!
