Hi there,
I was hoping someone could help me.
After recently purchasing the Smok Alien and Cloud Beast TFV8 atomiser tank, I’ve been using it with the V8-T8 coil, which is fantastic (although it overheats quite quickly).
I decided to try out the V8 RBA coil that comes with the tank, and attached it as per instructions. The alien recognised it was a new coil, and automatically set the ohms to 0.28 ohm, as per the guide. The alien was set to 50W, which is the lowest recommended limit for the coil and when I fired it up, black smoke came out of the air vent at the bottom of the tank and it cut off almost immediately.
Right after this happening, the ohm meter stayed at 0 and when I tried to fire it up, the message was ‘ohm too low’. As per a few forums online and with it being the obvious thing to do, I disassembled the atomiser and cleaned it, reassembled and fired up. The same thing happened. I’ve tried slowly loosening the coil and when it gets loose enough, the message ‘no coil’ comes up. Upon retightening, I get the same message again.
It appears there is a slight burn mark (only mild discolouration) on the plastic where the coil meets the mod but no other obvious signs of damage. I’ve tried loosening and tightening the dual Clapton coils but still no luck.
The mod still works with the V8-T8 coil, so no problem with the mod itself.
I emailed the support email for Smok on Friday but haven’t had a reply yet. Does anyone have any suggestions?
