Hi Guys,

Today I received 2 of the above batteries, a Nitecore D4 Charger and a Stingray X Clone.

I Charged both to 4.2 volts and inserted them into my mod. Everything was okay apart from the button which was firing when placed down which did annoy me. So after certain tinkering with the button and cleaning I settled back down to vape.

Within a second it started getting hot. Took the battery out but couldn't fathom out what it could be. Stupidly I tried the other battery to find the same result. It would seem they have completely discharged. No burning or venting occured.

I decided to try them in the charger to see if it was still reading a charge. Nothing. Tried my VTC4 and it read it fine.

Are these completely dead guys?. I am positive they were both inserted the correct way. Do I chance sending these back to Amazon?

Cheers

Did you check the resistance of the coil? You could of had a short.

Hi RagingMammoth,

It is a possibility as I may have tried a couple of atties that haven't being playing nice lately but I definitely remember was the Magma I am vaping just now on my Cana.

So a short is likely to be the cause, I take it that is the death to these batteries?.

Do you have a multimeter? And an atomiser resistance checker? You should have both if your using mechs and rebuildable atomisers, its likely you have discharged the cells too low for the charger to accept charging them.

The thing you have to figure out is why. Is it the pin in the stingray 510? Were you using the hybrid disk and if so was the atomiser centre pin proud of both the threads and the hybrid disk? Is there any damage to the atomiser insulators that could cause a short?
