Help with new kit

I have been vaping for a few years. Currently using Hexa Pro with menthol hybrid nic salt pods 1.0 %.
Until recently I was a very light vaper, hour in evenings with a drink. I had noticed if I vaped more my mouth was a bit sore. Recently a bereavement has caused me to vape A lot. My mouth feels awful, sore and burnt, nothing visible. I am presuming it is a reaction to the nic salts? Previous vaping has always been menthol juice, 0.3% and 0.0 %.
I was using a rebuildable stardust back in 2012, with wicks and wires, Ego 900mAh Battery.
Then I stopped for a couple of years, 2017 I used Halo Tank Kit with menthol juice 0.3% and 0%.
I moved onto the hexa pro as I was vaping very little and was keen on the simplicity and the sound of the smoothness.
I have only ever used menthol. The pods are non refillable, and 1% is the lowest.
I need to move onto something else but what? I want something mild and light, can anyone advise a suitable simple kit and juice please?
I am still grieving and need the crutch but my mouth is suffering.
Thank you.

Ive only tried nic salts a couple of times and much prefer freebase at 3mg so i can vape my tits off every waking moment of the day. now my main vape is custards and ive never had side effects as far as i can remember but on the odd occasion i do use various fruits and ive had similar mouth issues. it could be strong citrus thats causing the issue but best i leave this to others that use salts. do you drink plenty of water as vape can cause dehydration.
@DeeDee aka (Pod Queen) may be able to advise.

A quick google shows the Hexa pods contain a mixture of nic salts and freebase. I'm not too well up on pods but there are loads of them to choose from including refillables and ones you can replace the coil in, they'd be cheaper and more friendly on the environment. I'm sure someone on here can advise on kits and juice options plus check out the reviews section.

Could be a few things. I've been vaping nic salts for a couple of years now and can vape up to 36mg no problem, that'd be 3.6%. Everyone is different though so you may have a low tolerance to it.

You could have an issue with vegetable glycerin or propolyne glycol, which are the 2 main ingredients in vape juice. It may also be the coil material. I see that the one you're using has a ceramic coil, not sure if you can be allergic to those but it is something to think about.

I would personally recommend you go for a refillable pod system so you can experiment with different juices and levels of PG/VG to rule out one of those. You can also lower the nicotine level in case its that that is causing your problems.

The Vaporesso Xros kits are good. There's the Xros Nano, the Xros Mini and the Xros 2 and they all take the same refillable pods.. I'm pretty sure they would be good for you. @DeeDee aka (Pod Queen) can probably advise others though as she's the pod expert around here.

Thank you, so much for the advice. Those kits look great and definitely worth trying. I will do as you suggest and go for the low and lowest nicotine.
Thanks again.

Hi @Eileen McKenzie

Ok, yep the Vaporesso xros line is fab, the xros 2 or nano is better as you can adjust the airflow to suit your type of draw. Or maybe the aspire favostix or FlexusQ use ukasprevendor.co.uk with POTV or POTV20 for 20% off all Aspire items, they sell nic salts too. Stick to 10mg 1%

Hope that helps

All these are refillable. I could not use hybrid juices as i cannot stand freebase i can only use salts 10mg. Try brands like:
Juice head
Dr vapes
Manabush/Divergent. Cola range is lush
Prime vapes sell many salts too and their MTL collection is nice
Pod Salts
Nexus
Just juice
Supergood

It could be the ceramic coil or the hybrid mixture or even the pg but its very much trial and error.

Good luck and please ask questions as and when, just tag me if u want me or DM me

Thank you so much, really appreciated.

As above with all the great advice but also coil allergies.

I found out only through vaping that I’m allergic to Nickel Ni80 so it’s worth trying an alternative like SS316L or even Kanthal just to rule the coil issue out

Hi Eileen,

That sounds unpleasant. Some good advice above.

It might be worth experimenting with a couple of liquids from ichor. (https://www.ichorliquid.co.uk). They make pure PG and pure VG liquids. Trying a bottle of each would allow you to rule out intolerances to those ingredients.

Some people are intolerant to specific types of coil, as @Gitchy said. But I would rule out the PG / VG first.

Cheers, Martin.
