I so dont want to post my video on this one now LOL

I do want to note though, that in the 5v range the vapour gets really warm up to about 5.6v but at 6v it is very similar to what I was getting at 3.7v

A great review. As a relative newbie, this sort of information is really useful for considering what next to get. Thanks!

it's looking like its got the same affliction as the V1 lavatube it makes it's own mind up what to put out
i think the Zmax looks the better bet if only the price was better rather than just changing the £ for $

What do you think Scott

hi mate,

personally i think the Zmax is great....yes i would love to see the price lower, but i was very happy with my purchase and will be purchasing another as soon as the stainless steel version becomes available :)

unfortunately prices for most things in the UK will always be more expensive than China / USA as suppliers have to add on import tax, VAT etc whilst still retaining a healthy enough profit to cover staff wages, running costs, rates etc etc which are all set far higher over here than in other countries :(

i guess its all part of the joy of living in the UK! lol

Yeah i suppose your right Scott but thanks for your comment m8 i think it will clear stuff up for ppl
i'd go for the Zmax if i had the funds

Good review, thank you. I have one of these and... voltage changes between 3.0 and 4.0 ish have little effect, which is a failing of most PWM devices. Above this, change is noticeable and immediate so maybe you had a defective unit? This wouldn't surprise me. I wrote to Cig Star via their web site enquiring what their warranty was and got no response. So possibly standard craply unreliable Chinese build standard and poor customer focus. Build it, sell it, stuff the customer. I hope I have a 'good 'un' because I like this and above 4.2v the voltage changes seem to be immediate and noticeable and the general build standard (at purchase - will be interested to see what it looks like in a year) is good. I timed the response on the change variables and like the other person reviewing on here, it was 4 seconds too and not the 2 the manufacturer stated.

Hi Bryan

I hope so too , i think this must be a faulty unit , Ive been using mine a couple of months now and not had this issue , As previously stated in our vendors sub forum the batteries in the Kit are poor and don't hold up as they should which does affect performance, which is why we are selling a body only option.
The manufactures are been quite responsive with our enquiries , They are recommending the following for optimum performance IMR battery 18659 with a discharge rating of 10C , (the AW Scott shows in the review does meet this) they also recommend a 2.4ohm or higher atomizer for best performance , the device will work with lower but not at optimal performance , Im wondering if that is what is affecting the delay in changing output.
I not too technical but i believe the device runs a quick check when you fire it to make sure everything is within its tolerances (i assume to prevent overload) you can mimic this by firing with no atomizer , it will then show fault F1 , if you then put an atomizer on and fire it will show faulty F1 first press the recognise the atomizer and fire next press. This seems similar to what Scott was experiencing with the setting not changing on first fire after changing the settings ?

Good review Scott you can only call it as you see it and if the device was playing up what else can you do.

Ta

Dave
