Excellent review Scott and a good explanation of the benefits of variable wattage. Probably the most famous VW device, the Darwin, ha d a few drawbacks, not least its fugliness, but I did like being able to set it at my sweet spot in terms of wattage knowing that whatever i put on it I'd get the same power output. The Kick does the same thing for a lot less money but is limited in terms of ease of adjustment/accuracy.

The Zmax appears to give the best of both worlds

The only negative I've heard, and it's important to some people, is that it's a wobbler and by that I mean isn't especially sturdy if stood upright.

hi mate,

yeah it does wobble a little when initially placed on a table etc, but i always keep it stood upright on my desk and as of yet ive not had it fall over (yet, lol)

cheers

scott

would not have a clue to be honest, but it feels similar in weight to a Mini Provari (both with batteries but no atty connected)

Thanks for that Scott .. I now know what variable wattage is .. and it sounds a great feature ...

Im in the market for a new device so this has been very helpful

"Variable Wattage" Is probably not the best description that could have been given for this feature - Adjustable Consistent Wattage (ACW) would have been more appropriate. Because that's what it delivers - change vaping attachment and the device will compensate for the differing resistances of these and provide consistent power.

So have I got his right ..speaking as a noob with the electronics skills of an aardvark ... its basically power regulation, ensuring that no matter what the draw of the device on top .. the same power is always given too it ?
