Hi All,
I smoke. I know of a couple of people who use these new types of E-Cigs and it seems to be successful. So, I am looking to switch. Expectations are:
Better health
Lower costs
Less smelly
Having tried and failed with an E-Cig in the past (It was awful to taste and just a nightmare to drag) approx 4 years ago I am interested in what's about now.

So, that's simple enough.

Any suggestions and I do like the taste of ciggies so am looking for a like to like tasting and hit replacement with the option to try other flavours from then on.

and Welcome BTW ;P

Hi there and welcome to the Planet :D

1st things 1st, Eliquid will never taste like a cig, you can get close, but more or less, the juice ends up tasting like fresh unburnt tobacco. Other members here who prefer tobacco flavours can point you to the better of them.

If you really want to do this, best advice I can give you is to get a few 900mah or higher Ego Style batteries and some Vision Clearomisers. The clearo's are the best for faff free.

Think about what else you want out of Vaping. Alot of members come into this looking to quit, but end up picking up a hobby. In the end it still saves you money, but start up prices can be kind of scary. A good Ego starter kid, costs as much as a carton on cigs and pays for itself in just a week or two depending on how much you smoked.

How much do you smoke NOW? If you are a heavier smoker, you will want a higher MG of nicotine, 24 or 36 is where most people start, then they lower the MG the longer they vape. We have a few ecig users now who are going to 0 nic or are all ready on 0 nic :D

Keep in mind, for roughly the first 12 weeks after you quit, your body is going to give you all kinds of shit to make you THINK you need a cig. Check out this thread for 1st hand user accounts of side effects. http://www.planetofthevapes.co.uk/forums/showthread.php/1075-Side-effects-of-vaping The most side effects you will experience, will be from actually quitting, not taking up vaping.

Your taste buds will also play up on you, BIG TIME. For days it will seem like everything tastes like cat poo, then suddenly, every tastes 1000 times better than you remember. Fave foods, suddenly become overpowering and things you thought you didnt like before, taste brilliant.

It's a lot of information to take in at once and its a whole new language, but never be worried or nervous about asking a question, no matter how silly or stupid you may think it is. We were all there once :D

Hiya, you'll find things have changed ALOT in 4 years, lol! The equipment is better and the flavours can be fantastic. I'm no expert of tobaccos though so I'll leave that to the others. If you have any questions just ask, we are very friendly here :D

Hi and welcome to the Planet. I'd suggest getting to ukecigstore.com and picking up their "Viva la Riva" kit. I got one for a friend the other day, and I was actually jealous at all the kit he got for £31.99. You'll get a fantastic starter kit with a couple of batteries, a case, cartomisers, a clearomiser and a bottle of juice. That's where I'd recommend you start, and then keep looking on here and asking questions about the best ways to use it. Good luck with giving up, if you've got the right kit, vaping makes it easy!
