I'm a huge fan of Hodges Home Brew, and went along there yesterday to order some juice, but Hodges make their juices in small batches that are steeped for 8 weeks, and unfortuntely had very little 70/30 juices for sale yesterday, with almost all flavours being Sold Out at my chosen nic strengths.
So I decided to give another 'premium' juice maker a try - one I heard a lot of good things about; Digby's Juices.
My first impressions was that Digby's flavour choices didn't really seem to suit me that well. I struggled to find one that had a flavour descripion that appealed to me, but being a big fruity vape fan, eventually went for "Hooligan".
I'll say one thing first: Digby's website - in my opinion - is absolutely awful. No clear list of available flavours, icons that scroll all over the place, and no easy way to see what a flavour really is (they all have imaginative names). It's also painfully slow, when you click on the "details" button to see what one of these juices really is, it takes forever for the page to load. Think they could definitely do with a website overhaul, to make looking at and choosing a juice more easy - especially for people new to Digby's.
"Hooligan" is described as :-
Hooligan, our latest concoction. Its sweet with a lingering tingle. Cherry, lemon, Oranges and Limes combined with a bit of fizz. A true taste sensation that will leave you wanting more and more. We have worked for a long time getting this mix just right. This is a flavour fiends ADV. Enjoy Hooligan responsibly!
I have to say that on first vaping Hooligan, I thought I must have been sent the wrong juice. I can't taste any Cherry, Lemon, Limes or Oranges whatsoever - what it does taste exactly like is Benylin Cough Syrip. That's it. A strong, pungent, eucalyptus flavour, very heavily sweetened. This juice was only available in 50/50 ratio, and I normally vape at 70VG/30PG, so my first few 'tuge' in the Kanger Subtank with this flavour, almost ripped my chest out. It was really harsh.
To me this flavour tastes like it has no "mixology" involved in it whatsoever, almost like "let's just throw everything imagineable into a base liquid, sweeten it hugely, and call it Hooligan".
There's little else I can say, other than I bought 30ml of this juice for £14 (inc. postage) so am pretty disappointed. Certainly, where Digby's are concerned for me, the only way is up!! .......... but if this flavour is anything to go by, I'm not sure I'd spend any more money on Digby's juice. Perhaps it's just not for me.
Would I recommend this juice?
Well, if you have ever sat and thought "Hmm, I wonder what a juice would taste like that was made from Benylin Cough Syrip, with 12 spoons of sugar added", then this juice is for you....
